Here's a quick update in the standings since the ANA/VAN series has concluded:

Guerin has been horrid for them this series. Detroit didn't have Homer until Game 4, and are still without Lebda. Kronwall hasn't even played in the postseason due to injury. Trust me, the Wings have the short end of the stick.

I will say that Bert hasn't played up to what I believe he is currently capable of. Factoring in the Moore incident and his injury this season, I still expected him to be a little harder to knock off the puck. He seemed to be doing much better with this before he got the concussion at the end of the season. The tough truth of the matter is that Bert was bad in game 4, and painfully so in the third and OT. I know people are going to bring up the fact that he is still trying to find his place on this team, but he needs to play as strong as he can, because I remember a certain Sharks fan telling me that the offense for SJ averages 6-1, 215 (or some sh*t like that ). Bert is very capable of taking over a game with a hit or a hold in the offensive zone due to his strength and size, and game 5 & 6 will be the ideal time for him to step up that play. Here's hoping he can!

That's good to hear. You would think the Wings would be level-headed enough to know better than to count a team out, but its always comforting to get the reassurance publicly.

Sidenote: I love that our coach was boozing even before he left the arena.

The first chunk of missing time between his first and second shift can be partly attributed to the PK the Wings were killing off. The second big chunk of time missed was due to his skate blade being repaired. I question the validity of that shift chart. Look at Dom's TOI for OT, and the fact that it doesn't even have Homer (or any Red Wing for that matter) on the ice for the GWG. ???

No doubt.....nothing like a little dissension in the ranks. One teams frustration, another teams motivation. Our boys need to score early and crush the Sharks' spirit.

After the game, Ronnie was as cranky as a 3 year old who got his sucker taken by the Pre-School Bully. He made some other comments similar to the first one I posted.
