QFT That being said, the Sharks did a great job of clogging the neutral zone, and getting guys in the passing lanes. All the credit in the world for successfully doing this. That being said, here's hoping the Wings come out and counter, scoring early and often. Widen up the game, and get some flow to the passing.

Which is the point of my previous post. I realize the Wings aren't a good chase team once the pucks been thrown in, but in order to open the game up, they'll have to improve on that area. That being said, they also need to be stronger on the puck, and carry it in. This team can't rely solely on either, but needs both to be effective. Secondly, dig a little deeper here. If the Wings are cycling the puck better behind the goal, it should create openings and opportunities in front of the net. *Then* it comes down to having the guys in front of Nabby ready to knock in loose pucks and rebounds. Last night was a prime example or how important getting these things rolling will be to the Wings 2nd round success. Nabby gave up plenty of rebounds on a silver platter, but credit their D for clearing before any got put in the goal. If the Wings cycle down low, get the D to move, and *then* take that shot (with guys in front), they'll score goals. Game, Set and Match. When Holland and Co. start making comments about Bab's future, than I'll believe a word of it. Until then Eklund and the Canadian Media (who no one so far has specified) aren't reliable sources to make such a claim.

This couldn't be further from the truth. Give me one source that stated this.

They must've found Z's info from the EDM series last year. He did lead the Wings with 6 points in 6 games in that one, if I remember correctly.

I cant remember exactly which game it was last series, but I remember one of the announcers saying "Zetterman" at one point. Good stuff

That's your biggest problem. Photoshop is key. Was that a game from last season? Nick Lidstrom is the Captain now.

That being said, obviously the Wings will need to dump & chase if this trend continues, but where these games will be won or lost, is in how well the Wings cycle the puck behind the goalie. On top of that, even if they lose the puck, they need to push hard to get it back in their offensive zone, and create some turnovers.

Even if the Wings lose the next three straight (knock on wood) Babs will be the coach next year. Accept that.

QFT I've said it so many times already since the playoffs have started, but if the Wings establish the forecheck, and force the Sharks to make tough passes, those turnovers will occur, and you know the Wings have the guys that can put the puck in the net. Game 2 can't come soon enough.
