I will agree that I don't understand Babs' reasoning all the time. He seems like one of those guys that, 'if its working you stick with it' kind of guys, yet he benches Hudler (who has produced thus far in the playoffs both on the scoreboard and his all-around play). I can see why that frustrates you. It frustrates me as well, but I think his reasoning for not switching up the Z-Dats-Homer line thus far is that the Wings were 2-0 going into last night. Even if they're not clicking 100%, there's no urgency to make a change since the Wings were winning, and maybe his thought process was that he hopes that line will catch fire again, while the team as a whole is doing well. Now that they've lost a game, we'll see what he does.

No, If I'm not mistaken, that's exactly what OsGod is saying about Z, and he has every right to be a little upset. Z scored 6 goals in 6 playoff games last season, while in 3 games this year he hasn't registered a point. I'm not going to make excuses for Z anymore than I did for Dats last season, but I just don't agree with OsGod's sentiment here 100%. The Z-Dats-Homer line may not be lighting it up like they did before Z went down, but its not like the line has been invisible. Osgod's beef with Z is that he hasn't registered a point yet this series, but as I said, I don't look at it that way. If he's working hard and contributing, his efforts allow guys like Dats and Homer to get open and register points. Now that being said, Z (just like Dats) is being relied on to "carry the load" this year in the playoffs, and to some people, that only means points. I'm just not one of those people.

Great idea for a thread. We don't have any Lang/Sammy bashing threads, or threads about who Babs should bench.

Please god tell that Smiley Face is there because you don't mean what you just said.

There's more to the game than just the scoreboard. Calder has been a phenomenal physical presence, has been great on the forecheck, and has been digging pucks out of the corners like a champ. He's been an asset to this team through these first 3 games. 9 goals in 3 games, with 7 out of 12 (13 if you want to throw Bert into this) players recording a point. How is that not working?

If the Wings are fortunate enough to move on to the second round, and Z doesn't find his stride in the following series, I would have no problem "riding" him. That being said, there are always stipulations that come into play (I.E. Dats coming into the playoffs hurt last season). That being said, just because a player as a bad game or two there are way too many posters here that feel something drastic has to take place. Z isn't going to be perfect every game......Lids isn't going to be perfect every game.....Dats isn't going to be perfect every game. The point is that people need to slow down a bit, rather than rushing to these new "brilliant" ideas on what this Red Wings team needs.

The funny part is I haven't defended Lang really at all, and you're coming at me like I am. To me, your problem is that you just can't take the blinders off. No, Lang probably shouldn't be 2nd Line Center, and Yes he has struggled lately, but he is far from the Sh*t player you seem to think he is.

Did I directly quote you? Stop reading into things. You're only making yourself look foolish.
-
When did I ever include you in it? The point is, there are plenty of people here that don't like Sammy.....Hell, I'm one of them. However, atleast I can take the blinders off and admit when he's played a strong game. With that, I've never heard you admit once when Lang has been strong.
-
But not by the majority that are doing it in this thread. Again, Strange............. Sidenote: I'm not defending Lang's play as of late, BTW.
-
What's funny to me is how quickly people jump over some select players when the Wings lose one game, and yet never said a word when the Wings won games 1 & 2. Strange...........

WOW.......DaKineMaui is back. I was beginning to worry your island sunk. This is better than the Panic Button

I love how these threads pop after the Wings lose a game. Nevermind that they dominated the first two, and we're pretty even last night.

LET'S GO RED WINGS! LET'S GO RED WINGS!

PRE-GAME 3: (4/17) Red Wings @ Flames - 10:00 PM EDT

Just like that? -
Not by choice. I sure as hell didn't want to part with him. Willy and Sammy, now there's a different story!
-
You should be worried. They won't cut into the Wings game if this happens. Cross your fingers for a regulation win by either team.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...orts/columnists] I didn't realize the Flames made it to the SCF's in 2005!

After the look on his face after his leg hit Draper's ass, I knew right away he wasn't going to play tonight.

Waste of bandwidth. Anyone that cares about hockey and its tradition has absolutely no desire for SO's to be deciding playoff games. I can see it now....... "To decide the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals, we'll be going to a Shootout!" Crowd BOO's in displeasure.

Benching Lehtonen after game 1 was a no-no if you ask me. If he had played game 2 and sucked it up, then maybe. And Fleury won game 2.

Game 3 is almost always the most important game of the series. Here's hoping our boys come out and play a carbon copy of these past two games! -
How is the playoff format decided.... 2-2-1-1 or 232
NeverForgetMac25 replied to KOCUR26's topic in General
2-2-1-1-1 The higher seeded team gets the the First two, fith and seventh games at home. -
But you know what sucked about that, is when the puck was behind the boards it was replaced by an animated image of a puck that was about 4 sizes to big. It looked pretty ridiculous.
