It's written correctly. The OP didn't write "per" after the dollar amount, which indicates the dollar value is over the 2 year term..

What do you think the Wings could've got for the "supposed" additional scratch they spent on the UFA market? For the season Bert is coming off of, its a solid deal. Plenty of 45-point scorers make more than that.

That *is* exactly how it currently works. Did I post something that made you (or anyone else) think otherwise? -
2010 LGW Playoff Picks Games Final Standings

Round 3 sunk me. 18th isn't bad, but it could've been a lot better given my first round. -
TBH, I'm not overly concerned about that. I'm fairly confident that issue is discussed with any FA over 35 signing a multi-year deal. I'm sure Bert expects/wants to play both seasons and barring a career ending injury, that won't change. It's a solid deal for a player of his calibre coming off the season he had. Anyone whining about wanting him to sign in the $1.2-$1.4 range is just flat-out not being realistic.

Typical Eklunk BS. If I have to hear "my sources are telling me" one more time from him, I'm gonna lose it. All that means is that he has no sources, he's making s*** up and hoping something sticks. Sidenote: I love how he claims he won't reveal himself or his sources because that makes it "mysterious." All it means is that he knows people would constantly call him a moron to his face if they knew who he (Dwayne Keith) was.

And....Boom goes the dynamite! Talk about a massive blow to an already rough situation.
-
I wouldn't say they'll be in the basement. They definitely won't have the chops on depth to become a dynasty or likely win the conference again for the next few years, but they'll still be competitive in the regular season. As we all know, 3rd and 4th lines are crucial to postseason success and Chicago will be stuck with two mediocre AHL-quality lines. It's not gonna be pretty in Chicago come April 2011.

And as Packers fans, we laugh.

I think its a rule that if your team wins the Cup, you're forced to wear some of the ugliest hats ever created. NFL is no exception. I agree that the tempered shirts are pretty decent.

Meech can move on but Lilja should be re-signed.
-
A couple more....I can't help myself! "Whaaat? No more Red Wings games until OCTOBER?!?!"
-
If you have that much time on your hand, do it yourself. Do you not realize Lilja is commonly paired with Lidstrom on the PK. Why wouldn't he be on the ice for almost every if not all 59 PK's? So let me get this straight...what you want me to do is post how many times of those 59 total PK's Lilja was actually on the ice during any of it? You do realize that would only strengthen my argument given that he likely was on next to all of them, but likely wasn't actually on the ice at the time when the Wings were scored upon in those 6 cases. Get a clue and stop arguing when you've clearly been proven wrong. Back on topic.
-
Clearly you didn't pay attention to the PK numbers the *moment* Lilja came back. 2009/2010 PK Stats Without Lilja: 62 GP, 43GA on 267 PK's PK: 83.90% With Lilja: 20 GP: 6GA on 59 PK's PK: 89.83% Once again.....you're wrong.
-
BS...why wouldn't Lilja be in our estimations. The guy is beyond solid as a bottom pairing D-man, which is where he belongs and he's a beast on the PK. There's a reason Babs sticks him out there with Lidstrom on the first PK pairing. Not to mention the fact that the bottom pairing would truly benefit from a stay-at-home veteran presence for a modest salary. Lilja's perfect for that and he'd continue to alleviate the growing pains of both E and Kindl. If he can be had for a similar contract the Wings' defense will be solid top to bottom! If not, prepare for a lot of bottom pairing rookie mistakes this coming season.
-
Just an FYI: Abdelkader is required to make atleast $892,5000 next season according to the RFA re-sign policy laid out in the CBA.
-
That's a solid deal for Homer's services! Great signing Kenny! Now if Kenny can somehow swing locking up Bertuzzi to a similar type deal, I'll be quite thrilled.
-
I'm inclined to just say "or" rather than "and". Z-D-H/Cleary Huds-Fil-Franzen is = Z-D-Cleary/Bert Huds-Fil-Franzen Should be more or less = Franzen-D-H/Cleary/Fil Huds-Z-Cleary/H/Fil
-
I don't see any reason a second line of Huds-Fil-Franzen can't succeed. Given the talent and experience of those players, there's just no excuse for anything but production at this point. Obviously Z-D-H has worked in the past and I can't imagine it would slow down much if any if they were put together from the start. That being said, there is still merit to Babs splitting them up...now especially with Hudler in the mix.
-
And all I'm saying is that he'll likely have a more solid squad playing in front of him all season to help him even more. That, and hopefully he continues to improve rather then step back as a Sophomore.
-
Bad NFM! Standard digression from Blackhawks current depth and Lidstrom's "over-the-top extra" $1.2 million. My bad...but I blame Mindy.
-
Well, if that's not the most damning, factual argument I've ever heard! Chicago's cap number on the books for next year is $62,959,000+ all the while still needing 4 Forwards, 2 D-men (one of which is Hjalmarsson) and Niemi heading for Arbitration this summer! You're either making up the fact that you read that on another forum or you listened to someone who's full of s***. Yes, Chicago will still be a good team....but they'll have next to nothing in terms of depth next year.

Kate "enjoying" tummy time on her Baby Einstein Ocean Wonders play mat: Kate and I lounging. Forgive me, it was *very* early in the morning and I hadn't showered yet.
-
First of all, not its not. The latter two are a $1.95-$2.1 million difference and Horton (for Christ's-sake) is a $3.1 million difference, not $1.2. I love how you try to stretch numbers as if I'm (or anyone else for that matter) not going to call you on it. Second, Chicago is playing with a roster similar to one that Detroit had in 2008. One where Z and Franzen's contracts were peanuts. That's not gonna be the case next season in Chicago. Try again.
-
If all credibility wasn't lost before, it certainly is now. For the millionth time, have you ever thought of factoring in the fact that Detroit was playing with $31 million worth of players on December 23rd last year? Did the fact that his numbers increased to normal as the team became an NHL calibre club and not the Griffins as the season progressed completely escape you?
