I swear to god esteef, your predictions never cease to amaze me. Although, I would have figured you'd have Lilja scoring the first 5 rather than Sammy. LET'S GO RED WINGS! LET'S GO RED WINGS! Edit: Grammar

I was referring to you. This is what you said in one of your previous replies to me: “And please don't give me this warm and fuzzy "it's just great to be a fan, and we love our players and there contributions to the community, they're such great guys, they try really hard, etc...." I'm not dating them so I could care less if they're nice guys and try really hard.” If your going to tell me not to give the type of response you warned my not to in this above post, then you should prove to me where I’ve ever said something like that. Otherwise, don’t assume I’ll say something like that. :nonono: If you want a real response, give me a real one. I generally don't respond to this type of childish garbage, but since you posted one legitmate question in your response, I'll answer you: The fact of the matter is that bad bounces sometimes are the difference in who moves on and who goes home. And you didn't even respond to my post about the Sabres woes last postseason (and I didn't even mention the flu bug that hit the Rangers last April). The point that HOH made is very valid: The reason I brought up Basketball is because when 1 seed plays an 8, you can all but guarantee the 1 seed will make it through. It's not the case in the NHL. Obviously that was over your head. Sidenote: Comments like these can make you look like an ass as well: We were having a decent debate until you starting throwing stuff like this around.

I was correct a day or two ago............close enough.
-
Yeah, Dom's been absolute s*** this year. Leading the league in GAA, fourth in wins, 7 shutouts. He's garbage!
-
I believe its predetermined based on what seed you fall into, barring any outside factors (I.E. Booked Concerts, ETC.)
-
^ And yet some people think its cup or bust every seaon no matter what logo is on the front of your jersey. Gofigure

No offense, the majority of your post couldn't be further from the truth IMO, especially the bolded parts. Is that the case for the New York Islanders this year? No, its just to make the playoffs. To sit here and say its Cup or Bust, and that success only means one thing is completely false. When the hell have you have ever heard me (NFM#25) say anything like I have bolded in your last paragraph? Please find it for me. Now of course I agree with, "To whom much is given, much is expected!" The problem with your reasoning is that it doesn't take into effect that this is *HOCKEY*. Teams get bad bounces, pucks bounce off 3 players and somehow find a way into the net, a team gets injured (see the 05/06 payoff Buffalo Sabres). This sport isn't like Basketball. A lot of times the President's trophy winner doesn't get to hoist the cup that season. That being said, with the changes this team has made, there is no reason they shouldn't go deep in the playoffs, and god willing, they win it all, but to say that if they get beat by Anaheim in the WCF's or Buffalo in the SCF's is a failure is just plain being spoiled.
-
This is a better way of putting it, and yes this team is better equipped for a deep playoff run than the past 3.
-
Ack, typing too fast. A little unrealistic, don't you think? .........After being off for over a month?
-
Wings fans are spoiled. It's Cup or Bust for us every year......and that just isn't realistic.
-
Regardless, when 5 points seperate the 2-7 seeds, and there are still roughly 6 games left per team, the possibilities are endless. Win your own games and let the positions fall into place. With how close it is, theres no sense in trying to figure out who the Wings first round opponent is. Hell, there's still a chance we won't even have home-ice advantage. I won't worry about it until game 81 for the Wings. That's when we'll have a "somewhat" better idea of what the matchups could be.

NFM's Prediction: I see him coming back Thursday, April 6th against Chicago.
-
Kind of a misleading comment here since the the 04/05 season was lost to the lockout.

Winner!

My post reflects how I feel, but do you (or anyone else for that matter) know what my post was a quotation from? *Plays Jeopardy Theme Song*

Thats a bold statement (strategy) Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for them. Edit: Grammar

Lambeau Field is technically in Ashwaubenon, but they're still considered the Green Bay Packers.

Don't worry RW4747.......it happens. As soon as a Mod sees this thread, I'm sure they'll merge them, and make the title a little more "User Friendly" -

ESPn's 'Ultimate Ranking' of all sports teams

This was posted this morning. -
I'm not surprised that Buffalo or Nashville are ahead of the Wings in this poll. Their teams have taken off this season, while the Wings have been pleasing fans for the past 15 years. Much easier to be "pleased" with Nashville/Buffalo. Welcome to the boards.

Game 3 The Wings lost Game 2 by a score of 3-4.

Hasek is Lazy and He Sucks! Great Article. If he can keep up his play, we should be in great shape. I love Dom's mindset. It's exactly what you want in your starting goalie (especially come playoff time). Edit: Grammar

Easily the thing that annoys me most, especially when the Wings are on a 5-6 game win streak and then lose one. Until the Wings next game, all we hear from some people is how this team has no heart or character. Nevermind those 5-6 games before the loss.
