Yeah, you kind of lost the mini debate with HC with this statement. Sidenote: Not even to mention he's been pulled a couple of those times against the Wings.

Armstrong re-signs w/Kings: 2 yrs, $3 Million
NeverForgetMac25 replied to Zeta Power 40's topic in General
Meh, another Center the Wings just don't need. Thanks for the FYI nonetheless. -
Somewhere maybe like....this article.

You can bet the "Honey-Do" lists will be longer than ever upon the husband's returns.
-
I'm not much of a fan of his either, but if he gives Dats and Z some room to work in the playoffs, and it costs us next to nothing, its not the worst thing that could happen. That being said, a lot better things could happen than Laraque.
-
Oh my god, I wouldn't want to get in a fight with that man! Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go home, and put some water in Buck-Nasty's Momma's dish!
-
I didn't want to be the one to bring up the name. However, Cross brought nothing but a depth 7th d-man to the lineup, where as Laraque would atleast force players to think twice about running our skill guys.
-
Agreed, but again, I'm referring to a skunk situation on the day of the deadline. In other words, a last second, we've got nothing else kind of deal.
-
True, but if the cap hit is beyond minor (which it is in Laraque's case) it might not be the worst idea. Now that being said, I agree that the Wings would be better off with a guy like Bertuzzi/Guerin/Tkachuk coming in, but Laraque wouldn't be a bad insurance policy for guys like Z and Dats if any of the aforementioned don't end up in the Winged Wheel, and the Wings get skunked by inactivity come trade deadline time. The only thing that turns me off about Laraque is his $1.2 million salary we'd have to pick up next season. Sidenote: True, the Wings needs go deeper than Laraque, and obviously those are things Holland better address before even thinking about bringing in a guy like him. Let's just hope it happens this year.

Wings get back on track, and withstand the Stars efforts. I'd rather see Hasek get the start, and have Ozzie go on Saturday. It seems as though they are rushing him back with some of the press releases. Even if he's on the border, yet ok to go tonight, I'd still rather see him get three more days of rest, and be sure he's healthy. I don't wan't to lose Ozzie any more. He needs to be ready come playoff time, and if he comes back too early and goes down for the next month, there's no way in hell he'll be ready if the unmentionable happens. Edit: Spelling

The interesting part if Laraque signed with the Wings is that they'd only have to pick up $278,048.88 (if the trade was made on the day of the deadline). That's nothing for bringing in a guy that will protect your stars. Addition: $351,219.60 if the deal was made before the Wings game tonight.
-
That's not too bad. There are others I'd take before Doan anyway. That is as long as we get them.
-
A hundred dollars says if the Wings had won 1-0 last night, you wouldn't have said any of this.
-
I don't think the Wings will get Floppa, but I see one other high-profile player coming. As for the whole Betuzzi/Foresberg coming our way, and the Wings parting with Lang.........I just don't see it happening. Don't bet on it.
-
What the hell does this have to do with me? Did I once talk about the rivary being a reason of being leery over Floppa coming our way? Did you quote the wrong person?

Whew.....that's a relief. With all this concern about the Wings goaltenders returning, I was extremely worried about when Zetterberg was going to get his chipped teeth fixed.
-
Wow, to be honest with you, I think this whole post is ridiculous. Back-to-back game, in which we had to travel to Philly (who has been resting since Saturday evening), with our third string goalie in. No one in their right mind (including Foresberg) is going to say, "I'll waive my NTC but only if I don't go to Detroit, since they obviously suck and can't beat the worst team in the league." Nevermind the fact that the Wings are 3rd overall. Nevermind, that every team has bad losses (even Nashville who just lost to LA 4-1). Nevermind that the Wings have won plenty of games this season and are in a favorable position to win the cup. I swear to God, way too many people on this site go into freak-out mode the second the Wings lose a game. Nevermind that they had just won 6 of their last 7. End Rant

Do the Wings want first in the conference?
NeverForgetMac25 replied to Elshupacabra's topic in General
Exactly -
Even though Mac was my second favorite Wing (behind Stevie Y), this statement is dead on. Holland did the absolute right thing in buying him out. Sidenote: That's why my screen name is "Never Forget Mac #25" rather than "Bring Back Mac #25". I love you Mac, but I want to remember you as the Red Wing that you were. Godspeed, and here's hoping you can get back on track and start playing healthy again.
-
Your telling me. I was tied for 1st overall, and have now dropped back 4 points.
-
Talk about having your cake and eating it too. Just Kidding GG.
-
That's fine by me. He's not the guy I want the Wings to pursue, and now Dallas loses options toward the deadline.

Which Wings are ‘Untouchable’?
NeverForgetMac25 replied to Aussie_Wing's topic in General
Zetterberg, Howard, Filppula and Kindl. I would absolutely waive bye-bye to Williams or Sammy. Sidenote: Not that anyone is worried about losing Z.
