If I lived in D-Town I would love to do this!

Here's hoping you net number 500 in a Wings jersey!
-
Ooh, there was no typo there!

Sidenote: With Markov taking a tough shot last night, can we expect to see the Force that is Andreas Lilja tonight?
-
Back 2 Backs always scare me, and with JM in net, I'm more concerned. Here's hoping the Wings come out firing and get a good lead early to help Joey calm down. No predictions from NFM#25.

Anyone got some Ozzie highlight videos and wallpapers

If anyone was going to post in this thread, I knew it would be you HC. Cheers -
Sidenote: Potential......that's the key word here.

It's probably an issue for some because it hits (no pun intended) so close to home to the Draper-Lemieux incident. Teams may be desperate, but they aren't stupid. There is no guarantee that Bert will even be close to effective this year since he's only played 7 games at the beginning of the season. That's a hell of a long time to go without playing. That being said, UFA's draw a lot less because there is no guarantee that the UFA will sign on with the team the following season. Now I'm not saying that Bert may not end up drawing more than a guy like Williams and a possible first rounder, but I would be greatly surprised if Bert comes back in the next week, plays mediocore, and then draws some "real" talent.

If Bert had played more than 7 games this season, everyone in this thread may be singing a different tune. The fact of the matter is, he's a UFA next season, and has nothing to show for himself this year. Unless Bert comes back in the next week and tears it up, he won't get the lofty return some are thinking.

If the Panthers would take Williams and a first rounder for Bert, I would absolutely pull the trigger. I don't want to part with Hudler, but Williams or Sammy can go as far as I'm concerned. As Matt said, maybe Williams and a guaranteed second rounder, with the condition of a first rounder based on games played/health.

Wings win by 3 goals, and Gretzky shows off the infamous, "How-the-F*ck-could-you-call-that-penalty-against-my-team?-I'm-Wayne-Gretzky-and-should-get-special-treatment" look that I always laugh at!

I've blocked plenty of shots in my time. I was also one of the point penalty killers. When the Schneiders of our league took the line and shot on a PP, it was me that went down to block it. I've got plenty of black and blue memories of that. Good stuff, though! No complaints from me. I'll never forget my last season. It was by far my most productive, and the most memorable. We finished the season 26-1-1. Our only loss came to the second place team in our league (which ironically enough we had already beaten twice, and we went on to beat them 2-0 in the finals). I mustered 6 hat tricks that season and finished with 37 goals. That was the best season I've ever had, and I'll never forget any of the faces that were in that locker room with me.

To be completely honest with you, I was the 1st line Center on my team, so I was that pansy that my teammates had to take care of. As a result of my position on the team, I only got in a couple fights my entire playing career. That being said, the enforcers on my teams used to talk about sore hands and what not, but not once the season was over. It sounds to me like one of two things: (1) You broke a bone/bones in your hand, and didn't recognize it. Now as a result, the bone never healed correctly, or (2) you chipped a bone in your hand, and its still floating around in there. Do you ever feel something inside your hand that moves around? That could be something to look into. Edit: Spelling

I'm not going to get too far ahead of myself, but Joey Mac has got to come up big for us, if the Wings are going to take that top spot. Here's hoping. Sidenote: Thank you Pittsburgh!

With Eklund, not usually. Take it with a grain of salt. Once in a while something he spits out comes true though.
-
Exactly. You'd hear no complaints from me if that were the situation.
-
Which will more than likely happen if our boys don't win the division.

C'mon Lucky 19 & 42!

BRTD is right. Your dominant hand is generally the one on the bottom of the stick. A lot of people believe because they write with a certain hand, that they should also shoot with that hand (I.E. if your right handed, you shoot right handed, and thus your Right hand would be on the bottom of the stick). For me, I write left handed, but my dominant hand is my right. With that, I throw and shoot right handed. The force of your shot will come from your hand that's on the bottom of the stick, and thats why "most" players shoot that way.

Post of the day!

While the games against the divisonal foes are important, whats going to make it or break it for the Wings is the final 5 games against the Predators. There's a 20 point swing which will be the difference between 1st/2nd and 4th heading into the playoffs.

I watched that last night too. I was really hoping that one of the Joe's would just say, "Screw the competition" and take a shot t Claude. Of course, it was Lemieux that did the cheap high-sticking. As it happened, I looked at my wife and just said, "Typical." And even though it was 11 years ago, hearing Lemieux make comments like he did last night is what angers me. The guy is the same cheap-shot artist he was back when he played. Edit: Grammar

That was the first thing I noticed. Pulling out a few moves doesn't mean Crosby better watch his back.
