Score update? -
If/when the U.S. is eliminated I don't really cheer for any other team. I *prefer* teams with a lot of Red Wings to do well, but I don't mind if they don't. Unlike the '06 games I wouldn't mind seeing Canada win the gold, simply because of Stevie and Babs. Dats winning it would be nice as well. The Swed Wings won it last time so I don't mind seeing them not take home the gold. Again, this is all contingent on USA not making it to a medal game.

If you report a post that breaks the forum rules....*it is dealt with when the first mod is available to deal with it.* If it wasn't dealt with, its because the post in question wasn't breaking the rules, rather just upsetting someone. There's a difference. By the way, I've never received a report post from you....even once.

From what I understand, only player movement is restricted during the freeze. GM's can (and will) talk throughout the entire trade freeze. -
Nabokov stole the game last night - focus on the positives
NeverForgetMac25 replied to stevkrause's topic in General
I'm fairly confident Dats wasn't completely balanced, which forced the shot to stay on the ice. He had to get a shot off quick to even get one in the first place and not allow Nabby the chance to properly set for the shot. It's hard to look at that one save by Nabby as the sole reason the Wings didn't win the game in regulation given all the opportunities they had to bury the puck. Lady luck just wasn't on the Wings' side last night and although it's frustrating to lose once again, this team played exactly like they're capable of last night. If they play like that the rest of the way, they will make the playoffs. -
It also means that Franzen's tear wasn't as severe as most others'.
-
You must be the team doctor from the movie "Any Given Sunday." Most doctors state recovery time can be anywhere from 6-9 months. http://orthopedics.about.com/od/aclinjury/p/rehab.htm You're just stating its 4-6 because that was Franzen's particular case. His wasn't the norm.
-
Franzen's tear wasn't nearly as severe as 99% of athletes'. Do you realize how lucky the Wings are that he's back at all this season? Clearly, you don't.
-
Tell that to Tom Brady. Rehab can take well over 9 months, plus conditioning. You think he'd be ready 5 months from now....laughable.
-
Because a re-injury of this magnitude could mean missing atleast half of next season as well. This isn't about player toughness. Stop making it out to be.
-
If you truly believe this is only a matter of Kronwall not "playing through the pain," then you're an idiot. There's a hell of a lot more to injury "than any of us know and to question his toughness in the situation when its never been in question before makes you look foolish.

Unfortunately, I tend to agree.

Team Sweden Coach Following Franzen Progress

Sweden, 8 years ago is a different story. Not this years' Canadian or Russian squads. Also not the 2006 Sweden club. -
I swear *A* God! That always made me laugh.

I don't. Belarus, Latvia, Norway? No chance. -

I'm fully aware of the fact that its single elimination after the preliminary round. Hell, that's part of the reason I can see Sweden getting sent home early. It's also part of the reason any team could go further then they should. Of course its exciting...it's also can be over in a flash. -

It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for him to play in the Olympics. The game isn't as physical and I wouldn't be surprised to see Sweden bow out in the QF's this year anyway. They most certainly could make the semi's but I don't see anyone beating either Canada or Russia (unless they play each other) in that round. He'll get 3 preliminary-round games in and there's a decent chance Sweden will be one of the top 4. With that, they'd get a bye from the bottom 8 sudden-death round and then all bets are off. If they finished with a 3-4 seed, there's a fair chance they'd be out with only 4 games under his belt. Four games would be a solid amount of playing time and would help Mule get back into his groove without the expense of costing the Wings games if his timing is uber-off over the course of the next three games. Now that being said, all this is beyond moot if he reinjures himself while not even playing for Detroit.
