God help me...I'm agreeing with Mindfly. Whether this is nothing to read into or not, I just can't see that line being overly successful unless Babs screams in Dats and Fils ears before each and every shift to shoot the puck! Homer will help give them space, but they're still going to need to get the puck on net if this line is in fact together. I guess it wouldn't hurt to give the line a shot, but personally I like the idea of Bert-Dats-Homer better simply because while Bert isn't as shifty as Fil, he's uber-strong on the puck and he'll have space with Homer in front of the net. Logic says with Homer back, we'd see a lot of goals ala Dats to Bert to Homer or Dats to Bert with Homer screening.

^ The Wings finished their last WC trip at 3-1. Still, I don't think the Wings will win the next three.

I started 3/3 Friday night, then lost the remaining 3 games. Still, 15/22 isn't too shabby.

As long as he's killing penalties and eating up ice-time, I'll be happy. The Wings could use a defensive-defenseman right now.

Given the current standings, this will be a nice opportunity to grab the 8th seed back and be tied points-wise with NSH. Enough's enough Wings...make it happen!

Did I say it was just about injuries? No...I said that, *combined* with the fact that this teams' veterans are starting show their age. That's a pretty significant reason along with injuries that you're failing to touch upon or accept that its a cause for this seasons mediocre play.

Yeah...way to go Wings on actually potentially missing the playoffs for the first time in 18 years! Do you know how ridiculous you sound? Even if the Wings do miss out on the postseason, you're acting like a spoiled brat, just like so many others are around here lately. Look, I'm not pleased about their play this season either, but its not too difficult to decipher why its taken place. Tons of injuries and most of our veterans are starting to show their age. When that happens, a season in the middle of the pack is bound to happen.

Because that's life. What about the past couple seasons where the Wings have simply defied all odds and stayed almost completely healthy during the Regular Season? Should they have had as many injuries as EDM did last year to "even things up?" Obviously this helps the Wings' situation which is good for Detroit and its fans, but I'm not about to wish that on anyone. If it happens, I'll say "tough break" but be optimistic that it helps Detroit's chances, nothing more.

Since when do you get to decide what the players/coaches actually think? Why do you think you understand what's going on in their heads?

No one is saying E can play like s*** without any comment, and I'm most certainly not saying Lebda is anything to write home about. My point is that you're complaining about something every fan of every single team does. There isn't a single fan base out there that doesn't cringe when their bottom D-pairing takes the ice (especially in the now Cap world). Hell, there's teams that cringe when their middle pairing is on the ice. We key in on Lebda because he's "our" bottom pairing. Yes, he's not good....but he's also not much worse than any other #6/#7 D-man. Sidenote: Hell, Lilja wasn't appreciated by half of LGW *before* he was gone. The guy was garbage when he first got to Detroit, but really turned things around the past two seasons. However, the sheep of LGW couldn't get that notion out of their heads and instead proved how little they actually knew about his later level of play. Janik played well in his *short* time here, but there's a reason he hasn't been able to crack an NHL roster consistently. Yes, I really want a list of these #6 and #7 defensemen that you consider so superior to ours.

Why don't you elaborate on some #6 and #7 Defensemen that you consider so superior to those two. Jesus.....we're talking about the bottom Defensemen on a team in the Salary Cap era! What do you realistically expect out of them?
