I was never one of those that was dumping on Jimmy, nor have I been too high on him since his inconsistencies in GR. While he's done a solid job of keeping the puck out of the net and his lateral movement (as well as confidence) seems to be growing by the minute, I'd still like to see him start to control rebounds better. Bottom line is he's keeping the puck out of the net, but those juicy rebounds can and will be killers when the Wings are struggling to score goals. Shore up the rebounds, and we've got a solid goaltender on our hands.

Given a healthy roster these would be the lines I'd like to see the team take into the playoffs: 1a: Leino-Zetterberg-Cleary 1b: Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom 3: Bertuzzi-Filppula-Williams 4: Draper-Helm-Eaves (2nd Option: Maltby, 3rd Option: Miller or Abdelkader) May A top line that's been beyond solid before the past few games and a "2nd" unit that will easily put the puck in the back of the net and who's ice-time can be interchanged with the first unit as necessary. The third unit is extremely tough for almost any team to match up against, and the fourth line has been down-right great together.

Who was a better 2nd unit point option than Sammy on the roster last year? Keep in mind his RH'ed shot plays a major factor in this.

I was 10/10 before the three later games. Finished 11/13 on the day!

Why is it that we've never heard these types of quotes from any other former Wing or better yet, any of the other Russian 4? I can't remember which Red Wing said this (might have been Stevie or Shanahan) but I'll never forget the quote that said, "As a player, you hated Scottie Bowman 364 days a year, and on the 365th day you picked up your Stanley Cup ring." Haha! Seriously, you're going to use his lawyer's statements from 2 days after the assault to prove your point? For the third time, why didn't his lawyer fight the charges if he was innocent? As you (or possibly it was others) have said he stated what his lawyer instructed him to say. Are you so thick-headed as to believe that statement 2 days after both the assault and the initial report was filed? The fact of the matter is, he didn't fight the charges because everyone knows he's guilty. His lawyer got a nice plea agreement and voila! No more problem for Kane. For Christ's sake, no one is ripping his talent or ability to play the game. Why can't you come to terms with the fact that he made a stupid decision and let his immaturity get the best of him?

I wouldn't bank on the Blackhawks making the playoffs every year if they re-sign all three and the cap stays where it is (or more likely, goes down). That team will be so unbalanced it'll end up killing them (ala Tampa Bay-style). Teams will use a shut-down line against their number 2 line, use their top line against the Blackhawks top line, and then let their respective 2nd and 3rd lines go ape-s*** on Huet.

Once again, that has nothing to do with what I said. Kane pleaded guilty to those charges, but that wasn't what he was charged with *initially.* He plead guilty to those charges because it was part of his plea agreement in order to drop the initial charges, which included robbery as well as others. The fact of the matter is you're going to blindly defend Kane with the fact that since there wasn't a video camera in that cab recording their every move, that we should all stop ripping him because we can't 100% say what happened for sure. Don't you realize how ridiculous that sounds? If this happened to any other player on any other team and given not only the evidence against him, but the statements released, I guarantee you'd be jumping on him the same way everyone else is. Kane Charted in Attack of Buffalo Cabbie Sure sounds like he was innocent, huh?

Same as someone who blindly defends Kane when his guilty plea points in the opposite direction.
