You've never seen Teemu Selanne's most infamous goal celebration before now? -
Best goal celebration ever...maybe it was a fail!

You know its a matter of time before Ovie scores a huge OT goal, jumps too high and then....Bam! blankrap: That's a great video as well. -

Pretty much, yeah. He's on probation for the next year, but that's it. -

Kane Pleads Guilty -

Because he was guilty. If he wasn't, his lawyer would've fought the allegations to 100% clear his name of any wrongdoing. How is this so difficult to understand? The fact that he plead guilty says everything we need to know about his innocence in this case. -

He may have never admitted that he struck the cabbie, but he never denied it either. Why do you think that is? -

So that means lets just let Kane off the hook since there was a second person in there with him? Kane didn't deny any wrongdoing, which pretty much leads one to the fair assumption that he and his cousin are both guilty. No one is denying his hockey talent......you don't need to defend his criminal off-ice actions of that night. No one buys that he was an innocent bystander while his cousin beat the s*** out of the cabbie. If that were the case, why didn't the police report clear his name? -

That's ridiculous. Are you saying we shouldn't rip OJ Simpson because we don't know the full details of his incidents? Bill Clinton for the Lewinski debacle? These people along with Kane all did something wrong and they got caught. 28 other NHL teams' fans are ripping him no differently than any Wings fan has. The only ones defending are complete Blackhawks Homers. The fact of the matter is even a solid amount of Blackhawks fans will tell you he was stupid and got in trouble as a result. That's all that matters. -

I know this was directed at Opie, but you can't tell me you honestly believe Kane is innocent. That would take homerism to an entirely different level. -

In Opie's defense, the Blackhawks have $21.7 million locked up in 8 forwards, $16 million locked up in 4 forwards and $5.625 locked up in Huet. That takes up $43.391 million, which leaves $13.4 million remaining next year *given that the cap doesn't go down.* and the need for 5 more forwards, 3 more defensemen and another goalie (9 total players). If those three were to take up the remaining space the average cap hit for each of them would only be $4.46 million (which is simply too light for players of that calibre). Now lets just say it does happen and they sign for the remainder, that would mean they'd still need to 3 more forwards, 2 more defenseman and a goalie (6 total players) while they have zero cash to spend. No one is foolish enough to take Campbell's ridiculous contract off Chicago's hands and the same goes for Huet. Opie is correct, major moves need to happen in order for them to sign all three. -
Advice....expect to hear "f*** You" or "Wings ******* Suck" as you're walking to your seats. You'll likely find one person in your immediate seating area that you can have an actual intelligent hockey conversation with while half of everyone else ignores you and the other half taunt you all game. It sure is fun though when we win, which has been the case at every single Wings/Blackhawks game at the UC I've been too. I was even there for the December 23rd game a few years ago when the Wings were down 2-0 with a minute left in regulation only to score with 37 seconds and 9 seconds remaining before Dats eventually scored with less than 0.1 seconds left in OT. It was hysterical to see the looks on the faces of those that were being pricks to us all game. This is not true. My brother and I went to the aforementioned game wearing Wings apparel and that was enough for the 5-6 drunken 18-year-olds sitting two rows behind us to be assholes the entire game. I found one fan sitting one row behind us that I had a great civil and intelligent hockey conversation with the entire game, but those 5-6 others behind never relented.

Nothing wrong with that! Sidenote: Damn Sharks.

I never said he was. I was referring to goalies being on top of the crease which is what you replied to Pucks about. He/she stated he was on top of his crease all night (which he was), and you stated "He gave up a goal for that reason" which isn't entirely accurate. I was simply replying to the statement you made, which isn't a fair argument because it wasn't what Pucks was referring to. So I then took it further to state I'd rather have a goalie playing the percentages than sitting back. Nothing more.
-
True, but he'll let in a hell of a lot more if he isn't on top of his crease. That deflection last night was sheer bad luck and those types of goals happen during the course of a season. I'll take any goalie playing the percentages by cutting off angles by being further out with a point shot coming in then the other way around. Point and case: look at how that plagued Dom in the 07/08 first round. Way too deep in his crease, way too many shots found their way through because of all the extra room.

Yes....but I'm fairly confident he was there for Steve Yzerman's "2009 HHOF Congrats Night."

He's done a great job of keeping the puck out of the net the past couple games, but I'd like to see his rebound control improve.
-
Maybe he was talking to the trainer and pointing to his groin in reference to the "action" he was going to get later that night since he didn't have to play. If that's true, that would be the absolute last thing this team needs right now.

11/11 GDT: Red Wings 9 at Blue Jackets 1
NeverForgetMac25 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Actually, he let in 5 more after he came back in the second.....but who's counting? -
Playing with Lidstrom-Rafalski on the blue line the majority of the time should really up the effectiveness of that line (not just for the obvious reasons). Given the fact that Bert likes to crash the net (where Homer also makes his living) it'll be extremely helpful for Dats to be able to move the puck between two smooth passing defensemen which is key to opening things up for Bert and Homer down low. Guys like Lebda, Stuart and E don't possess that level of natural instincts. Not to say they won't be dangerous, but this is when they'll be most effective given how that line is likely to play.

My favorite stat: The Wings outscored the BJ's 7-1 at even strength yet *no* Red Wing finished better than +2 on the night. Talk about balance and everyone pitching in. 7 different Red Wings all getting their 3rd goals of the season was pretty fun as well. -
Not to mention half the time OsGod wears a Nash jersey while attending the game.
