From what I've always seen the bonus structure looks similar to this with the total amount awarded spilt amongst the players: First round losing teams: $50,000 2nd round losing teams: $100,000 3rd round losing teams: $200,000 Stanley Cup Final loser: $500,000 Stanley Cup winner: $1,000,000

Player contract salaries run through the regular season only, but Players do get paid in the playoffs. Its just a very small amount paid by the league based on how far their team goes.

This is just getting utterly hideous. One more serious blow to the top 2 lines and it could end up being a scary finish.

They didn't give a reason, just stated that they were working to get the feeds back. That being said, all the HD feeds were working again for me as of Friday night as well.

Since I switched to DirecTV over a year ago I got very used to watching the Wings in HD with CenterIce, but ever since the free preview that CenterIce offered expired last month CI seems to only be showing games in standard def. Has anyone else noticed this and do you know why this is? Is it something similar to what NFL Sunday Ticket does where they require an extra payment to get the HD feed? Has this happened to those of you with different providers such as Dish, etc.?

If you want to prevent some injuries (which have plagued the league to a momentous amount this year) it is a step in the right direction rather than a waste of time.

While Ozzie was solid once again last night, he didn't do it devoid of team defense. I'm moving this to the GDT, as the thread is based solely on last nights' game.

DirecTV customer update: I just got off the horn with Customer Service and they stated the HD feeds will be back mid-November. So a little more than a week from now we should be back on track.

If a goaltender knows a player is going to deke all they have to do is wait out the shooter. Of course its not as easy as I just made it sound but as I said, a goalie at the NHL level is good enough to lower the success rate of their dekes if they know its coming. Just like its not as simple to wait out a shooter making a deke, its not as simple as you stating "there are millions of dekes you can do". Again, all the goaltender has to do is wait you out which is 10-times easier to do when *you know* a player is going to make a move. Williams is in the normal rotation with Dats and Z. That being said, he did go second which Z normally does, but I'm assuming it had to do with Z missing his last few attempts in that slot. Perhaps Babs wanted to give him a different look and it worked.

Who still have not won a playoff road game. They're in good company with the Blue Jackets in that department.

Similar....and a FYI to F.Michael, the game was not shown in HD last night for either feed. But why would they not show the HD feeds this season like they did the entire last season? I know you were kidding, but if you pay for the HD subscription (which I do) it should be included.

While I always find myself wanting to see Dats deke (and Z for that matter) simply due to the effectiveness those shots have proven to be (especially for Dats), they really can't do it every single shot. Goalies at the NHL level are too sound and film is too readily available for them to note shooters' tendencies. If they don't switch it up, the success rate of those dekes *will* go down.

The last 3 games have been the Ozzie that's played the past two postseasons. Giving his team a chance to win and being big when he needs to be. This is exactly what I was asking of Ozzie a couple weeks. Good on him for responding the way he has.

Yes, its something that Wings players and really most others would've done, but it was still a smart play by Crosby at a crucial point of the game. Who's fault is that?

I definitely like what both these kids bring to the table, but everyone needs to keep in mind how raw these two are yet. There's a great chance one or both will be on the big club in the future, but an immediate call-up if Oz and Howard struggle really isn't the answer. Let the kids atleast have somewhat of a chance to polish their games before they're thrown into one of the most difficult positions in Detroit sports. I vaguely remember hearing that quote.
