I can understand saving the Rangers for the Islanders, but then who? Perhaps the Devils or the Capitals, if we're also saving the Flyers for a later matchup with the Penguins. Personally, if its not going to be the Rangers, I'd prefer a BOS/PHI matchup. Toronto would be in the same boat as the Islanders as far as holding off to put a better product on the ice (no offense Mack_Attack).

4/9 GDT: Predators 4 at Red Wings 3 (SO)

Boston and NYR would make the most sense. Montreal has already had their turn. Plus having the Rangers being the opponent would be media frenzy (not that MTL wouldn't).

F.....I knew that. Thanks for the correction.

You know I'm referring to "Last 10 Games" rather than "Last 10 posts"....right? I like to use trends to help me determine games I feel are closely matched. Not that its helped me much this season.

Tomorrow's games should also be great and could determine the Wings' first round matchup (given SJS gets atleast 1 point tonight). 8:30 ET - (6) Columbus Blue Jackets (92 points, 41 wins) @ (8) St. Louis Blues (88 points, 39 wins) 10:00 ET - (Garbage) Dallas Stars (80 points, 35 wins) @ (7) Anaheim Ducks (88 points, 41 wins)

...and then I could just make two changes right before the first face-off tomorrow to one-up you. Just an FYI, I promise I won't look at your picks when I'm selecting mine. I always wait until Friday to make mine simply because of the L10 factor.

My wife is convinced that will be me when we have our first child. She's not too far off.

4/8 GDT: Columbus Blue Jackets @ Chicago Blackhawks
NeverForgetMac25 replied to redwings4life's topic in General
Incorrect. The Blues do not need atleast two wins assuming the Ducks get zero wins to take 7th place. The two teams are currently tied for points with ANA having 2 more victories than STL. The only way the Ducks 100% control their 7th seed is if they win both of their final games (given their win total exceeds STL's). If they win one and lose the other in OT/SO, the Blues would overtake them if they won both of their final games. Similarly, if the Ducks lose both their next two games (in regulation), all the Blues need is one point in the final two games to take 7th place. -
Bleeding vein likely to keep Lilja out for start of postseason

QFT The outcome was unfortunate, but I think you're taking this too far Husker. There's far more examples of players that didn't let up when a player was on the ground "defenseless", and the outcome was nothing more than a few scratches. -
There's no doubt this Sharks team has all the tools to make a deep run. TBH, there's no excuse not to this season. Now that being said, the reason some Wings fans (myself included) don't want to play the Ducks is because not only are they playing their best hockey of the season, they reside on the other side of the country. Ideally, I'd like to see the Wings play someone no more than an hour flight away, just as I'm sure the Sharks wouldn't mind playing a team as close as Anaheim. Just because some don't want the Wings to match up in the first round against the Ducks doesn't mean those same fans don't think the Wings will come out on top. It's about hopefully winning and keeping as much in the tank as possible. 2 months of playoff hockey isn't exactly a picnic...its a grind.

Gotcha. I thought of that, but figured you were referring to Rafalski. Cheers -

Agreed. I'm not picking my poison, but I'll tell you who I don't want to face. Regardless of being 3-0-1 against the Ducks this year, I'd prefer not to play a team on the other side of the country that's playing its best hockey of the season right now. -

This just wreaks of a completely Lilja-less playoff run, which absolutely sucks. I sure hope I'm wrong. There was a duplicate thread. I assume your post wasn't erased, you just posted in two different threads. I've now merged the two. Well aren't you a treat! -
Grow a set Boudreau! It's all in good fun, and I wouldn't be the least bit upset if/when someone rips Dats for the Rahmani commercial. It's not as if they're personally attacking someone's family or its meant with serious malicious intent. There's a lot worse things to be worried about. Get over it.

I still think they'll make the postseason, but it'll be a quick 4 (5 if they're lucky) game series. Interesting Sidenote: If the Habs don't make the playoffs (or don't win the Cup for that matter), it'll be the first decade since Montreal's inception that they don't have a championship to their name.

Datsyuk awarded 97th point after the game
NeverForgetMac25 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Captain-type stuff. Kind of like when Stevie Y passed on an empty netter and passed it to another player (Fedorov, I believe) to ensure he got his bonus as well. Not if he can get 3 in the next 2. -
Another goal I loved this year was after an intial Maltby shot deflected over the top of the goaltender (Giguere or Hiller I belive), Leino was there and batted it in mid-air. Sick stuff.

Who Should be on the 3rd Defensive Pairing in the Playoffs?
NeverForgetMac25 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Despite Cheli's better play lately, I think I'd rather see Ericsson paired with Lilja. If Cheli can play like he has more recently I wouldn't mind seeing him in, but his age has finally caught up to him. -
Tired Osgood? He faced 23 shots. That's not exactly "wear-out" numbers.

I'm fairly confident "epic" is a poor choice of words given our matching 9/23 scores this past weekend. Optimus Prime is a *****. Go Megatron!

So was it for Minnesota yesterday.
