When is the last time you have heard we had a legitimate rival team in the East or that one was even starting to get that way with the wings? I think it does matter to a point what side you are playing on since it seems that when you play teams in your same conference they play harder against their own because of how the playoffs work on who gets in and who doesn't. From what I remember and have seen the East has been known for more physical teams/play then what the west has had so I can totally see why we would need to keep players like Tootoo even more now that we are in the East.

When was the last time you seen tootoo run someone behind the play? And explain to me the difference between he and Helm. I think we seen the perfect example why we need a player like Tootoo on the ice in the Chicago playoff series when they started playing really chippy against us. I feel real strong as that being one of the main reason why Detroit was thrown off of their game and lost that series. We had no one to stand up to the Bickell's and the likes on Chicago. That's why yeah not even I want a "goon" on our team because I feel the same way we can play without them but we do need players like tootoo that hit,not afraid to drop the gloves with just about anyone,has heart and can even chip in on offense. It may not be a total deterrent which I have never said he was but it does keep the players he is on the ice honest to a point.

Listen...The first one I can sort of understand SORT OF...but when Scott was engaged with the other players that one is the one I didn't like then the spear at the end. Kessel is going to poke the bear like that then he needs to deal with the consequences of his actions.

Ok to that point of the fight before was it fair that power forward like Jamie Devane 6'5 210lbs who has several fights fighting a 5'11 185lb more skilled winger Corey Tropp? I'm sure in Scotts eyes that was way unfair so he was going out to "settle" up. I really don't see Scott just jumping over for no reason and wanting to fight Kessel unless there was a reason. That's why this seems so strange for him.

But you are forgetting why Scott even came out after Kessel. You keep running your mouth calling out a Goon he will at some point come out. And that's what happened. That's the difference with players Like Dat's When is the last time you seen him chirping are a goon? The code I'm sure for the skilled guys as well is don't poke the bear unless you want to "get got" Scott never even was able to get him but Kessel sure did land several slashes. And then when Kessel's team mates jumped on Scott that sure didn't stop Kessel from still hacking away.

Kessel apparently thinks he is a fighter he dropped his gloves and fought. Going back to Crosby. I have seen threads go for days talking about how Crosby was checked or ran hard, some even be a bit on the excessive side, and then the only thing he can do is a slash back because Crosby is no where near a fighter and he got crucified for it on here. I don't have to even try because I know Dats wouldn't do a d*ck move running his mouth then when scott drops his gloves to shut him up he starts slashing like that.

You guys have lost it. Neither Dats or Z would of started it like Kessel did so that is a non factor. Kessel wants to run his mouth and do what he did without having anything kind of repercussions? Come on you guys if Crosby was doing this you all would be calling for his head and he is one of the greatest skilled players in the game now and is no where near a fighter. I think Kessel did a pretty pricky move by slashing scott about 10 times while scott was engaged with someone else. Again if it were Crosby I think things would be a bit different in this thread.

Yeah it's offensive to you and many others because you probably don't make even 1% of 8mil and probably think you could do a better job than him or that putting in someone like Yzerman is going to change something. If it wasn't for the owners there is no way the players would be able to or be willing to support a league without the owners and their money. That's why the owners put in someone like Bettman and not someone like Yzerman.
