And the owners rightfully so will not be giving up their money any time soon so the players can all go over seas to play I guess. If that's what they want so bad. The idiot players that are running their mouths to the media need to shut up and let the big boys negotiate and stop crying.
-
Sort of like some of the comments on here by some. hahaha field hockey..oh man that would be awful.
-
now now you know fehr and the nhlpa were just the victims here of the devil called bettman. give me a break.....Both sides are ridiculous. So sad that we lost the historical winter classic because of all of this. If I didn't love the sport so much and love watching it I would no longer be a fan of the nhl and would probably stop watching hockey all together.
-
Amen to that.
-
Yeah because the owners need to be professional about it no matter how they feel about Bettman or anyone or anything unlike the players that have spoken making themselves look whinny.
-
Speaking of crying..... Which player will be crying this week to the media. Poor NHLPA and poor Fehr. They are just innocent bystanders in all of this. The Devil wears an NHL Logo. When will the players wake up and finally see that Fehr is just playing a game with all of their money? They are all getting screwed.

Junior Hockey Players Forming Union.

Oh boy...Duane Lewis is going to be the devil now I guess for the poor chl players. -
And talking out of turn like a bunch of spoiled brats makes the players look like how? So the players can talk all they want without any fines but the owners need to shut up if not get fined......This same kind of 1 sided thinking is why we are here.

Sacrifice the full season to guarantee Bettman's removal?

And the way these negotiations went Donald Fehr needs to go as well. -
I felt the same way about Jimmy Devellano.
-
And the players need to start accepting the deals the owners are giving them if they want to play again. Owners are not budging rightly so.

I use the same links that you guys use that say that it's all Bettmans fault and the NHLPA are just the victims in all of this. -

Fair meaning well over what their employers are making and well over what they are really worth? Yeah sounds real fair. And Owners have Bettman in there to make sure that the players don't get too greedy and it seems to be working. -
Not sure why you are wishing that. The players and the nhlpa haven't changed one bit from what they have wanted the very first time they came to the table. Thats whats screwing this all up. no one wants to give any. Players for some reason think they are worth more then their employers and the employers know better.
-
Thats the thing. Sorry to say but there is not just 1 devil in this fight.
-
And hopefully they would drop the nhlpa so they wouldn't have a union leader that thought they were worth more then they really are.

I love how some on here seem to blindly follow everything the nhlpa says or does. Some of you sound like a lot of employees here at work. owner of the company makes billions why can;t he give me just 1 million dollars. It wouldn't hurt him at all. hahahah Some how Fehr is a Saint for looking out for the players and being greedy but Bettman is the devil. I don't get it. -

and I would love to see the owners stand against a bunch of greedy players and their greedy union.....oh wait. -
Yeah Yeah all that sounds a few people on here got together and wrote an article about what they thought....no proof of anything. Both the NHLPA and the NHL are wanting the moon and the stars and no one is willing to give anywhere. I lean more towards the owners simply for the fact that no other business in the world has it's employees making more money than the owners. That wouldn't be very smart of the owners.
-
Why would the big 4 meet before they all meet.
-
I'm not sure I understand you not wanting to talk about other leagues that are way more successful than the nhl and the reasons why they are. There are things that other leagues do that the nhl would be smart to adopt and some things that they need to stay clear of. there is nothing wrong with bringing those facts up. I hope that the 10+ yr contracts are a thing of the past.
-
So let me get this right. You are the only one that doesn't think this is a good step in the right direction? I don't understand what you think the owners should have to give up. should it be more like a 70-30 split for the players or something and then you might be happy? I mean really. 50-50 is fine and fair seeing how bad they both want more than the other ELC up from 3 to 4 years...why not? works for the nfl just fine. UFA up from 7 to 8 years..no comment really contract lenght capped at 5 years..my fav no more awful contract that we all have been complaining about that even our own players on the wings have. salary cap down by 10 million...why not? keep it from getting out of hand like every other sport in the world. my other fav is the 5 year contracts can only vary by 500k per year if i read that right. no more bottoms dropping out at the end of contracts

To me revenue sharing is a joke. If a team can't make it in a certain market...time to move on. What I have seen are teams like Nashville prime example the whole time they have been in the league have been one of the main teams to take advantage of revenue sharing by being cheap ass not giving guys what they are worth, never keeping players and so on but all of a sudden they have enough money to sign Weber to some astronomical deal?? "Come on Man!!" would you rather not have a deal done at all? no matter what you feel this is a good deal for the player. they need to take it.

I wish they would just drop the all-star break. It's as worthless as teats on a boar hog.
