No it wouldn't be nice. Because then it would turn into 3000 posts debating that said reason they negged someone. To me I think it's sort of dumb to have a plus minus because it does nothing but cause these sort of issues. If you notice the people that get negged the most are the people who complain about it the most. Nothing against you or anyone else but that's just what I see. But on the subject. If signing homer to a lot less with less ice time gets us another year of Zeus (Lids) on the team then I say why have we not already signed them both. I know of players on the current and past teams that have been a lot worse that we all love/ed.
