As a season ticket holder, I’ve had the opportunity to watch the Blackhawks magical transformation first hand, and it’s been something very special to be apart of. Due to my status as an employed person, like most Americans, I am subject to paying federal income taxes. While taxes are typically used to fund a variety of useful programs, Detroit has been the beneficiary of a questionable bailout at the hands of the average American tax payer, like me. As my taxes continue to fund your inability to manufacture a problem free automobile, it frustrates me that it is my very tax dollars that are allowing residents of Michigan [employed by GM and Chrysler] to purchase tickets to attend games at the Joe Louis arena. Given your recent slew of handouts, I am now asking for one of my own. Would it be possible for you to provide me with four free tickets to either Game 1 or Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals? They don’t even have to be good. I’ll even take standing room only tickets! I think this request is beyond reasonable, given that you’ll have trouble selling your venue out anyway. I will be happy to drive my American made Chrysler product [have had the vehicle for 4 years, and have had 3 major problems] to Detroit and perhaps inflict some dollars into your economy as I take in the Hawks/Red Wings game and later try my luck at the MGM Grand Casino.
