so a bad habit of mine is to go to the other teams gdt and look at what is posted after a loss for them..yeah its one fo those guilty pleasures and i cam across this...im not sure how i feel about this. "On a good note: 1) It was GREAT to see Ward step up and play the way he has to in order to stay on this team. He certainly wasn't the weakest link last night. 2) Another great crowd on a Tuesday night helps keep the team closer to meeting the goal of sharing revenue. 3) The 1st period was just awful but the team attempted a decent rally in the 2nd. That was good to see! 4) And dear lord...was Rinne huge in net or what?! Now they just need to start with the basics and get back to shooting the puck, the blueliners need to learn how to perform a ONE-TIMER (Hear that, Weber?!) again, and SOMEONE needs to channel Hartnell and GO TO THE NET AND STAND THERE! How many times are they going to continue to try dumping it around the net, get a change, chase it back into the corner and leave it there until it squirts back out to center? It's GETTING OLD watching that same old #### and the coaches of the other teams have figured it out! It's time to put that stupid play into the garbage and the coaches need to come up with something new! Like getting a player to actually carry it into the attack zone and go to the net. Other teams do it...teams that want to make the playoffs do it. Why don't the Predators do it? "

think about how many fights in all of hockey...not just nhl but every league everywhere and you have 1 death from fighting and now you want to take it out of the sport? what about boxing....how many deaths have we had in that sport from getting hit so many times in the head and they don't seem to be stopping anytime soon. and as far has the helmet thing is...like i said before....how would you like tootoo running around with a shield on knowing he can;t take it off and starting fights like he does..people like him would use that to their advantage. example..i know this is boxing deaths vs mma and its the only thing i could find in short but look. not sure. are we sure its not in some agreement they have with the nhlpa that they need to do these? im not sure but if that was the case they why do they do them if they don't have to? and i understand no one is forcing anyone to buy it...thats why i said that was my opinion.

i would have to disagree..paying for anyone to put their name on something is ludacris to me. we already pay how much for tickets and food at the games? and to have some player thats not even the top on the team charge for an autograph isn't right in MY OPINION. I remember very specifically after game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals between Detroit and Pittsburgh where Gary Roberts blatantly pushed/punched Franzen in the head (it was his first game back from a concussion). Well, they asked Doan about it on the radio (Gambo and Ash perhaps) and I was expecting him to say Roberts was probably upset, and trying to set the tone for the next game or send a message that Pittsburgh wasn't going to take this lying down, but ultimately you don't want to see that sort of thing in the game. You know what he said? He said (I'm paraphrasing as this was a year ago) Detroit has a lot of guys who will cheapshot, facewash, run their mouths, and so on and so forth, but they don't drop the gloves, and when you have guys like Franzen who will be the first to dish out those sorts of cheapshots then they better expect to get them right back. Needless to say I thought that was awesome. But that's not my point here. The point is if a respected and pretty mild-mannered and honorable player like Shane Doan says that about Detroit, then you can rest assured it's true. Can I tell you specifically what Zetterberg did that warranted Jovo's crosscheck? I can't. Do I know it was necessarily a response to something that Zetterberg specifically did? I don't. But there's a general idea here that Detroit can be a cheap, dirty team, and obviously that frustrates the old school, actual tough players in the league like a Shane Doan, Gary Roberts, Jovo, etc. Guys like that are the heart and soul warriors that made this game so great, and nowadays you have a bunch of pansies who run their mouths and get away with facewashes, stickwork, etc. because they know they'll never have to be held accountable. Jovo's frustration was likely a direct response to that, and it sends a message that if Detroit thinks they can keep getting away with that nonsense that they might just have another thing coming."
