When you consider some of the other 2nd overall picks from past years... Malkin, Heatley, Spezza, Marleau, E. Staal, J. Staal, Doughty, Sedin(s), Legwand, Redden, etc... Not all are necessarily future hall of famers, but all of these players have proved significant impact on their respective teams at some point in time. Considering we're nearing 4 years after Ryan's draft date, he should have by now done something.

I'm just here to request an MV of Franzen's best goals. Seeing as I don't know where to find downloadable clips, I can't make it, but if somebody can guide me to these clips, I'd be more than happy to make one. Since last season, Franzen has not only been scoring a lot, but he's been getting serious highlight reel goals, including two of the best goals this NHL season. To see these goals compiled into one video would be excellent.

Burke makes bold moves that are hit or miss. Not sure how much he will help this team. I'm sure he'll North Americanize it a little more.
-
The way Boston and Washington are playing shouldn't go unnoticed.
-
The worst starting goalie title belongs to Gerber, seeing as he has been demoted big time.
-
I don't think Brett Hull understood him anyway...

When most predict Hedman to go ahead of somebody like Tavares in this year's draft, I think he's something special. Another d-man everybody should watch... RYAN ELLIS. The kid's small, but has a booming shot, and plays a similar game to Scott Niedermayer. They predict him 7th overall this draft.

There is nobody as multi-dimentional as both of them. Well maybe trading Zetterberg for Ovechkin for Datsyuk to play with wouldn't hurt. Or Datsyuk for Crosby for Zetterberg to play with. Would I ever do a combo deal like Datsyuk and Zetterberg for Malkin and Crosby or Ovechkin and Semin? NOPE.

We didn't have a great record against Calgary in 06/07. I think our record against Nashville was at like .500 if that, as well. Playoffs tell a different story.

I guarantee mid-season improvements from all the players. Osgood, Lidstrom, Rafalski, Cleary, Filppula, Lebda, etc. are some names that haven't been playing near full potential. If half of those players improve just a notch, we have a cup winning team. To think, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Hossa, and Franzen can/will improve too. We have a 14-3-4 record with all our best players not even playing to full potential, which is scary. Forget not being able to beat the Sharks, Ducks, Habs, and Pens right now... Improvement from some of our players would make us capable of beating the 80's Oilers with ease.

Anybody catch this? It was actually a pretty good fight. They were throwing bombs and the fury was definitely there.
-
Agreed. Only one word for this fight... DIRTY.
-
Only against other star players. You won't see Stamkos vs Boogaard anytime soon.
-
A- at the minimum though. Watching him out there, he has to be the best backchecker in the league. His stick is always active, and it is effective. Yeah, he isn't on no 100 point pace RIGHT NOW, but that's what preventing an A+ mark, IMO.

I always thought Orr was the youngest to ever play. Nevertheless, RIP. I never heard of this guy, but he had a title that no one will obviously ever take from him.
-
Well if he doesn't win Norris, I wouldn't mind seeing Shea Weber win it... I always liked him.

Maybe a question that has been asked before, but I'm sure not for a while, so a little update wouldn't be so bad. For me it would go... 1. Jonathan Toews 2. Milan Lucic 3. Jarome Iginla 4. Alex Ovechkin 5. Dustin Brown

Too many people are giving Hossa an A+. Listen, I love the guy, and I think he fits the mold of this team better than anyone else who could have possibly came in. However, you got to understand that the first 4-5 games of the season and the last 4 games, he hasn't produced enough. That's 8-9 games... Nearly half of the season worth. Now as I said, I love Hossa... But A+ would be a perfect rating, and not producing like he should for 8-9 games of this season wouldn't account for a perfect rating. Hossa gets an A, IMO.

We all watch hockey, but we never really talk about the guys that will sit in a panel and talk about the hottest hockey topics. So I dedicate this thread to them. Now, mind you, America definitely doesn't have the quality of guys TSN in Canada does, but there's definitely a favourite nonetheless on FSN, NBC, or whatever (I'm sure not Every Sport? Puck NO!). My favourite anyway is easily Bob McKenzie. The guy's opinions are always followed through with tons of logic, and no one ever disagrees with what he says and rightfully so. I do like Dreger because he always seemed to be a Wing homer, but that is a different story. McKenzie is the best hockey analyst ever IMO.

LOL. I have a soft spot for Wellwood, I mean the hard nosed and/or multi-dimensional players are more my cup of tea, but I used to love watching him when he was on the Spits.

Reminds me of the move Briere pulled.

Why does everyone get so surprised with this team, they come out of the gates the same way every year. It's Lemaire.
