Okay, like every season, there are a few unexpected players off to fascinating starts, but every year the exact same players wind up as the top scorers. Who of the following players will continue their pace throughout the entire season? Alexander Semin Devin Setoguchi Patrick Marleau Zach Parise JP Dumont Andy McDonald Shea Weber Brian Little Ales Hemsky Derrick Brassard Matt Stajan These are all players that round up the top 30 in league scoring... Do you expect consistancy throughout these players? The only ones I expect it from really is Semin and Parise.

Usually when a player has 0 PIM.. It makes me think they are not playing gritty enough, but for Lids, it's the absolute best thing. He doesn't need PIMs.

Is Sakic the best captain in the NHL you think? I mean as I said before, I wouldn't know, but he doesn't seem too vocal, I mean he leads by example but guys like Moreau, Morrow, and Doan seem better. I'd rate Jason Smith as the absolute best leader in the NHL though.

The thing is, who's to say all 4 can't be in the top 20? I don't know... You obviously don't agree, but the fact that's he gets a goal almost every game, he has been one of the hottest in the NHL for like the last 6 months of hockey. I think by the end of this season, this discussion will become more legit.

We don't know who the best captain is, we aren't there... but from NHL media word of mouth, and from what I can envision, it wouldn't be Lidstrom. I'd give the nod to Brendan Morrow. Shane Doan, Ethan Moreau, Rod Brind'Amour, and select few others strike me as good captains, but again, I don't know. Point is, fans voting for best captain doesn't determine anything, because fans don't know.

Jeez, if it was that easy to just go in the NHL and tap in some goals, I think I should play... If it just takes little tap ins, maybe I can be a 50 goal scorer.

I will highlight the guys I think Franzen deserves just as much, or maybe more credit then. Oh, and you forgot Thornton, Nash, Staal, Kovalchuk in that batch.

The guy hasn't stopped scoring since second half of last season... What is he averaging, >0.75 GPG since then, including playoffs. I made this thread because of that. Collectively, there has been maybe a small batch of players (forwards, defense, and goalies) better than him over the last 6 months of hockey played... In terms of hot players, he is a top gun, and I think soon he will be easily a top 20 forward in terms of elite, proven ones. Unfortunately we might see even more production from him in a different jersey.

If Burke ends up on the Leafs, I'll once again hate them. I just started coming to terms with them as well, being underdogs and proving critics wrong and all. Can't stand Burke, and his presence alone will make me hate the Leafs again.

How about Mike Babcock? He's fairly young, so when his coaching career is through, not only do I see him a contender, but I see him as one of the better coaches of all time.

By the time his career his over, Rafalski will have a good chance, I think. I don't see him as a first ballot inductee, but I think eventually. I hope we can some day talk about Leino.
