It's not just Hossa that we "wet ourselves" over, it's the fact that we have 3 of the best 15 forwards in the NHL in our lineup that makes us "wet ourselves."
-
I'm not going to lie, there really isn't THAT much appeal to that lineup.
-
Oh okay, so I was right... He was the funny guy. Damn he was like the next JR.
-
I remember this guy being the "funny guy" on the Canada World Juniors. Like he was the prankster and what not, I believe it was him anyway. I really don't get it, he was good, and a player bound to make 7 figures per season eventually. I really don't get it. There isn't really too many reasons for a player to quit at such a high level. What is he going to do now, become a banker? I seriously don't get it at all.

I honestly could see a surprising decision from Mats, aside from those 4 options.
-
The Flyers can't afford him, but they would probably consider making room for him via waive and/or trade. The Rags would sign him too. However, I honestly think that his presence on one of those two teams could make one of them potentially the best of the EAST, meaning they could make the finals, making them contenders.

Holy jeez, can't believe how old this thread is.
-
1. Detroit - I grew up on them, done. Dad, big Detroit fan... Stevie Y, major influence. 2. Chicago - I just always liked them. Original 6 team, and when Tony Amonte was in his prime he was sick. Nowadays, Jonathan Toews is one of my favourite players so that's a bonus. 3. Boston - Two words: CAM NEELY.
-
Nice... But Sakic's wrister at :56... WOW!
-
Not very far off. Crosby's stickhandling is dazzling too, but nobody would dare to mention him in this thread. He's a top 10 stickhandler, IMO.
-
People mentioning Cam Neely in this debate is like mentioning Jeff Finger in an overpaid player debate.
-
In game situations, Lemieux has done the most smoothest things with his hands. one can ever witness. Kovalev has done spectacular things in games, but obviously not as much as Lemieux. Now, mind you, Kovalev may be a better stickhandler say in puck control relays and just showboating around, but what Lemieux did in games makes him one of the better stickhandlers of all time, IMO.
-
Datsyuk I'd say is the best active stick handler. It's too bold to say all time, but he might be the most unique out there. The way he's graceful and the way he shifts his body during alot of the dekes is very unique. Kovalev is great, but he doesn't use it in game situations enough. Gilbert Perreault, Denis Savard, Mario Lemieux, Pavel Bure, Stan Mikita, Bobby Orr, and Peter Forsberg are all names that come to mind for all time's sake.

1. Lidstrom 2. Sakic 3. Brodeur 4. Chelios 5. Fedorov 6. Sundin 7. Shanahan 8. Pronger 9. Selanne 10. Niedermayer

Yes, they did beat us last year... Results: We won the cup, and they missed the playoffs for the 3rd straight season. Let them beat us.

My argument is weak? I think I established my point pretty well. I find it pretty funny how there are so many Samuelsson defenders out there when as little as 3 months ago he was hated upon. Nothing has changed, aside from the fact he has a Stanley Cup ring, but aside from it all, he's the EXACT SAME PLAYER. Yes, he won a Stanley Cup, but don't you think we could have won the cup if somebody like Mark Hartigan was in the lineup instead of him? Yes, he scored 5 goals in the playoffs... Well, I would most certainly hope so when you play half of the powerplay every game. I just don't get how Sammy suddenly becomes flawless after he's been the laughing stock of the team over the last 3 years, along with Lang and Lilja... Folks, he didn't play THAT great in the playoffs. No reason to get hostile at me here either, I'm just not able to figure out why and how Samuelsson's status has changed so drastically. He went from overrated by virtually everybody to underrated by most... All of this overnight.

Yeehaw, my name is Billy Bob and my inbred son lives in the basement!
-
This would only happen on the deadline and only if the Wild were doing bad.
-
- He skates like an idiot. - Ruins the whole dynamics of the second PP unit by taking a soft wrister, getting a whistle 99% of the time... Kronwall, Hudler, Cleary, Franzen, Filppula, or whoever's out there all rotate the puck nicely on that unit, not so much Sammy. - He doesn't have to stickhandle like Datsyuk, but his stick handling could use work. - He has a noticable panic every time he gets the puck leading to poor decisions. Those flaws would be dismissed if he was tough, but he isn't. I'm as happy as anyone that we won the cup, and couldn't ask for more. I just have to say, Samuelsson still sucks. Sorry.
-
Nice... But wait wait wait, Visnovsky won best defenseman ahead of Chara? I don't get it.
-
Yeah, it would be Kaberle. I always looked at him as a second rate Lidstrom, and he seems to have the same sharp personality as well. He'd be a good captain, I mean he has a heavy accent, but he seems to have been a responsible assistant. I wouldn't bet on McCabe, but it is possible. There really isn't anyone else.
-
3 of the NHL's top 15 forwards + 2 of the NHL's top 5 defensemen... Nope, no better unit.
-
I can't stand whoever is on Versus. Not only do I hate the voice, but they either state the complete obvious or get facts completely wrong. I could understand regional commentators being bad, especially for non hockey areas... But national commentators should be the best of the best... Like TSN.
-
Yeah really, Vinny is definitely fairly rated on all counts, as is Malkin. Malkin is definitely not overrated.
-
Since Henrik got to play in the All Star game, it's only fair to give it to Daniel.
