Modano's past his prime, Rolston could make it, Cole not over them guys... Umberger and Stafford? Well the other 3 you mentioned might arguably be just as capable as Brown and Pominville, but Umberger and Stafford? Pominville is probably the best player on Buffalo, Stafford just makes the cut as a second liner there. Umberger sure had a great playoff run, but that particular 3 rounds worth make him one of the best American hockey player? No dice.

People astonish me... I seriously can't believe how many of you remember this.
-
Because it gives Martin Havlat something to look forward to and not conveniently get injured.
-
Eric... Jordan might wind up a Selke contender, Marc might wind up a Norris contender, and Jaret will probably be a 4th liner. In retrospect, Eric is better and I can see him having a better career when it's all said and done. Darcy Tucker or Shayne Corson?
-
He found a way to use his body effectively to create more scoring opportunities, and showed that he has a great set of hands. Kind of reminds me of an 02/03 Bertuzzi. Now if he doesn't hurt his back, break someone's neck, and lose a bunch of weight by next season... I don't see a reason why he wouldn't be able to keep it up.

Gretzky never had a postseason where he was less than one point per game...
-
Correction.
-
Probert... Better offensive threat, better fighter. Erik Johnson or Jack Johnson?
-
I didn't watch much of him in the playoffs other than when he played us... But playing us, regardless of points, he seemed to be dominant on the puck and rather unlucky when it came to opportunities. I think he'll rise next playoffs and maybe even the season not playing under Ron Wilson and doing his own thang.
-
Thornton, nothing special? You kidding me? He can hold the puck for an entire powerplay, whether it's finessing it or pushing guys off of him and find a way to make passes through 3 guys tape to tape. Thornton's vision and dominance is uncanny. He has amazing accuracy too, and never shows it. If he shot more, he'd be even better.

Behold the power of Malsby, Penguins megastar!

Jason Arnott + Alex Tanguay ArGuay or NottGuay or ArnottGuay. -
If we were to say in prime... Well why not Joe Thornton, Jeremy Roenick, and Jonathan Cheechoo or Patrick Marleau?
-
As a duo, D and Z for sure. Individuals... Hate to say it, but Crosby over Zetterberg, and even tougher to say... Malkin over Datsyuk. Dale Hawerchuk or Pat LaFointaine? Two of the most underrated in NHL history.
-
I'm far from biased, but the Wings bar none, hands down. The Pens arguably have 2 of the best 5 players in the game on their team, but collectively Detroit, hands down.
-
Not chemistry... But putting Datsyuk between Kovalev and Ovechkin could wreck any opposition. Crosby/Thornton/Iggy could be a deadly line too. Set Iginla up all day.
-
Milan, very simple. Ray Bourque or Doug Harvey?
-
Forsberg - Backstrom - Franzen? Yeah, does look better. Also, insert Filppula on the Finnish team, don't know how I didn't include him.
-
Brown - Connolly - Kane Cole/Higgins - Conroy - Gionta/Stempniak Yeah, pretty good top two forward lines, but... Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Holmstrom Filppula - Franzen - Hossa I have a hard time picturing any top 2 lines from anywhere contending with that.
-
Some other Michigan born players are Legwand, Rolston, Kesler, David Booth, Gleason, and how could you forget JEFF FINGER?! The state of New York has some good players... Patrick Kane, Dustin Brown, Brian Gionta, Chris Higgins, Erik Cole, Mathieu Schneider, Tim Connolly, Lee Stempniak, Craig Conroy, Mike Komisarek, Jimmy Howard, etc... Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Massachusetts have some good players too.
-
Cujo. Wendel Clark or Owen Nolan?
-
Pitkanen. Alexander Daigle or Patrik Stefan?
-
Prime Fedorov, and that's no knock to Hossa either. Steve Downie or Daniel Carcillo?
-
If injuries don't plague Zetterberg next season, I could see him ending up a top 3 point getter... But then again, that's if injuries don't plague him. I could most likely see him missing 10 games and really hurting his 100 point hope.
-
I have a hard time ever remembering Sandstrom on the top line in '98... But I guess it may be true.
-
Well, NHL-wise, Datsyuk is better than Larionov. However, Larionov's Russian league dominance can resemble Bure and Fedorov's NHL dominance. But whatever... Happy b-day Pav! 30 years old and only better years will come.
