Jeff Finger to Toronto as far as I'm concerned was the most outrageous deal yesterday anyway. The Redden deal was second.
-
One year deal or nothing. Next.
-
I think he'd play even better here with all the Swedes myself. His defensive ability may not be the strongest, but believe it or not, Selke winner Pavel Datsyuk's wasn't exactly the strongest either until like the 06/07 season. This team is a think defense kind of team, and it's a possibility that he could be influenced by our other stars. If we can get him at maybe 4.5, then it wouldn't be too bad really.
-
Yes, Craig Mactavish. Who holds the record for most points by a goaltender in one season with 14?
-
Good deal, IMO. He's a guy who can play both positions. Montreal was the best powerplay team in the NHL last season, and Streit was a big reason. 4M is not alot at all, this is one of the few fair deals today.
-
The only way I'd want it to happen is for one season and up to 7M. Not going to happen.
-
SWEET.
-
20M for 2 seasons?? Man oh man... This isn't the NBA here.
-
I'd say we sign him now before he wins the Richard, Art Ross, Hart, Pearson, and Conn Smythe trophies next season.
-
I think he could be close to Lundqvist money. Lundqvist is probably a top 3 goalie in the league, while Miller is a top 10. Not every starting goalie has to carry their team... Miller has virtually no defense in front of him.
-
Yeah, the cheap shot on Franzen was uncalled for.
-
What was Probert thinking... He would have got his clock cleaned.
-
Hey, wanna spare the sarcasm for a minute? The guy played like a beast over the playoffs, and still proved himself as a workhorse. Regardless of injuries and so on and so forth, he is a 3rd or 4th line checker that ANY team would take. The broken legs and other illnesses prevented him from really just being a 1st or 2nd line stud, but he still can muck it up with the best of them and is one of the most passionate players to ever play.
-
Why is it so unanimous that Roberts isn't playing? The guy's in better shape than anyone in the NHL and can play 3 more years if he wanted to. If this does or does not happen, I could really see big things coming from T. Bay.
-
No professional hockey player is dumb, that's why they're professionals.
-
All looks good except Chelios close to signing. Sorry, but we have so many promising D-men in the system and he's filling that void. I'd rather see Quincey, Meech, or Ericsson more than Cheli... Love the guy though.

Canadiens hand out qualifying offers to 6 players.

Would you guys say the most probable RFA out there to shift teams is Corey Perry? -
I'd say we'll find out our conference's biggest challenge pending free agency. I'd give the title to Dallas at this point though, and division? Chicago.
-
Some can say Z's better than Vinnie, and it might be unanimous at this point, but I honestly think the only thing Z has over him is his defensive play (pretty big BTW). What Vinnie has over Z though is a *slightly* better scoring touch, a better physical game, and the fact that Lecavalier only misses up to 1 to 2 games a season is huge. Zetterberg is more injury prone, sorry but he is. The better hockey player? At this point Z, but Vinnie has value. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go on and predict Lecavalier as a Hart favourite next season.
-
8.5M for Lecavalier now is good, but will he be worth it in 9 years when he's 37? It's tough to say.
-
Yeah, Raycroft = Garbage. He really only won Calder because there was nobody else. He hasn't hit .900 SV% since prior to the lockout. GARBAGE. Howard is probably better than him even now.
-
Or J-Lo... Love don't buy a thing.
-
I have seen the backstage antics him and his teammates pull on each other. The Pittsburgh Penguins as a team are like a family, they all seem to get along and really treat each other like brothers. Malkin is no exception to that, at least from what I have seen in locker room footage. Oh and about the ladies comment... I'm just going to assume this is him manwhoring it up in North America.
-
The only thing that Burke has going for him is the fact that he will still have a stable team for at least 2 years with their best forward, goalie, and defenseman locked for that time. He got a good deal for Kunitz to stay, but that'd about it. He sat Niedermayer for half the season... Big deal? It was a panic move at best because of his idiotic Bertuzzi and Schneider signings. Last season he was pretty good, not the best, but this season he's far from the best... Not the worst, but far from the best. 15 other GMs are better than him at this point and I'll name them with pleasure... Holland, Gainey, Murray, Rutherford, Lamoriello, Holmgren, Shero, McPhee, Sutter, Wilson, Hull/Jackson, Sather, Risebrough, Chiarelli, Giguere... There, 15 GMs, 16 if you count the Dallas GMs as two. Burke is overrated and outspoken. Now not being able to afford Perry and Mowers makes him even worse.
-
I think he likes it here to be honest, the atmosphere of the NHL is way more exciting, and hopefully he has enjoyed the fame and success he has accomplished. For any Malkin lover, maybe a thing that could keep him here is the lovely North American ladies that he can get. Hopefully he takes that into consideration.
