  1. This sucks, I love watching Malkin play. He skates and stickhandles like a vintage Sergei Fedorov, which is awesome to watch. I sadly think he will go back, I mean he can't speak a word of English, is from Russia, and they're offering him at least 2.5M more than an NHL team would.

Thrashers hire John Anderson as head coach

He's a player's coach this guy, he's going to help them surely.

Jeff Carter Gets 5 million Big Ones..

Jeff Carter is a 30 goal per season player and will be in his next 15 years of play, from here on in barring injuries. 5M is a bit much at this point, but it won't be by next season, I guarantee it. Carter only had 53 points, but let's not forget how he was one of the league's hottest players in the latter part of the season.

    NHL's top 10 forwards

This question gets asked over and over and over again, but a reason why it gets asked is because it changes over and over and over again. I'd say... 1. Crosby - Still the best, and many people will argue, but he did have the best point per game average in the regular season and the most points in the playoffs. Still carries the load when need be, I think he's the best for sure. 2. Ovechkin 3. Zetterberg 4. Datsyuk 5. Malkin 6. Iginla 7. Thornton 8. Lecavalier 9. Heatley 10. Kovalchuk Might make this list by next season: Getzlaf, Richards, Gaborik, and... Franzen?

    Seen Stamkos?

Not that it matters, but I would say Stamkos has a much uglier face than Crosby.

    Malkin to LA

    Jonathan Berneir can provide that.

    Malkin to LA

I don't know, if the Pens get their draft pick... That means Drew Doughty. You know how huge that is? Assuming that the Kings are trading their first round pick.

    NHL's top 10 forwards

I don't think Zetterberg has more of a superior goal scoring touch than Crosby to be perfectly honest with you. Just because Crosby plays a pass first kind of game, doesn't mean he doesn't have the touch. Fact is, Crosby has a quicker release than Zetterberg and maybe one of the best releases in the game. Crosby is a better stickhandler, a faster skater, stronger on his feet, and way more tough to get off the puck. Not that I'm knocking Zetterberg either (again, he's my favourite player in the NHL), but this list is based on elite skill level, and Crosby tops the list. Oh, and no I didn't make this just to glorify Crosby and his spot at number 1. I made this list to pretty much show how much it has changed from a year ago or half a year ago. To show that, hey we can have an argument where Zetterberg and Datsyuk are better than the best, whereas not long ago, it'd be arguable to even have Hank and Dats even on this list. I still think that Crosby and Ovechkin are in leagues of their own, and for people to say Zetterberg is better than them does have a biased feel to it. Maybe it's just too surreal to me, I don't know.

    Daryl Sydor

Ericsson, Meech, Kindl, Quincey, Stafford, Smith... Way too many young defense in the system to bring anybody in. Leave the defense be... Hell, leave the team be, we're good. It should be a boring offseason, but for the better. Very minimal new signings please... ONLY FOR THE BETTER.

    NHL mock draft

Glad to see more predicting Doughty will go 2nd over Bogosian. I think the Kings will be beasts if not next year, the year after. Patrick O'Sullivan, Anze Kopitar, Jack Johnson, Dustin Brown, Mike Cammalleri, Thomas Hickey, Jonathan Bernier, and probably Doughty... This isn't a team to be taken lightly at all, high end talent for sure.

    NHL's top 10 forwards

Zetterberg is the most dynamic two way player in the game without question, but to say he's better than Crosby and/or Ovechkin is a biased statement in my opinion. Zetterberg is my FAVOURITE player, I idolize him, and wish every player was like him... But let facts be facts, Crosby and Ovechkin are in leagues of their own. They didn't win scoring titles and MVPs by luck, they did it with pure skill. The way they play the game, the way they create opportunities is like no other, and no others we have seen since Lemieux or Gretzky. I'm not just taking that opinion from the media, I watch players closely. They don't slack defensively either, and I think the only guy who doesn't recognize Crosby's defensive game is Michel Therrien with not putting him shorthanded. You see the way Crosby can muck it up in corners, what you think that's ANY different from the way he would be able to play defensively? Guys aren't allowed to get the puck when he has it in the offensive corners, he could do the same in defensive situations, but I'm going to be the first to say Therrien doesn't let him. Crosby is the best hockey player in the world, and we are going to need to learn to deal with it, because he's going to be the best for the next 15 years.

Brad Boyes is not an elite player, it would even be a stretch to put him on a top 30 list. His game is way too one dimensional.

Anyone else interested in the Jackets' offseason?

Guys like Chimera and Vyborny could/should provide good secondary scoring if they actually play to their potential. Plus, Gilbert Brule has had a horrible NHL career thus far, this could be the season where he steps it up.

    Vintage Datsyuk

I'm totally against blaming goalies, but I wasn't too happy with Cujo either. It's okay, he redeemed himself in 03/04.

Anyone else interested in the Jackets' offseason?

I opened this thread forgetting about Sergei's departure. I'm not too too interested with them, but a tad jealous that they are getting Malone. They could be good next year but I have been saying this since 05/06.

    Vintage Datsyuk

We've seen that move hundreds of times and it never gets old. Not too mention, that might have been one of the first times he did that in the NHL. God I miss UPN 50.

    The Sea of Red

Do what the Orlando Magic does... Half of the bleachers are red, while the other half is white. Orlando does it with blue and white. It's simple divide the bleachers and on the tickets it will say wear red, and the other, it will say wear white. Far fetched, but the Magic do it, it's cool.

    A nice little experiment here...

Okay, so here's what you do, it's very simple. Go up to any anti-Wings fan you know, rub it in their face that the Wings swept the Avs, and destroyed them in game 4. Now seek the response you get... The response will be... "If the Avs had a healthy roster, it wouldn't of happened." Likely followed up with, "they have no chance against the Stars." The moral is, no matter how good we do, haters still hate, doubters have doubt... But the real issue is pure jealousy. Just an experiment, see how many people say this, and respond in this thread accordingly. It's gonna be fun!

Well yeah, that's classy, but what seperates that from the end of any other playoff series?

I have gotten the "Yankees of the NHL" on numerous occasions. I'd like to think of us as the PISTONS of the NHL.

Yep. 186 over 185. Unfortunately, Stevie has had some lousy postseasons.
