1. Probert 2. Kocur 3. Grimson 4. McCarty 5. Lapointe Sure you can include guys like Tiger Williams, Brad Norton, Wendel Clark etc... But you also have to take into consideration how long they played for the Wings, how often they fought while on the team etc, etc... It's like making an all time Wing player list and slapping Robitaille, Hull, Hasek, and Chelios at the top... Sure they had exceptional careers, but not necessarily with the Wings.

Yeah about goaltending... I mean there are some big Canadian names still, but beyond the 3 that made Team Canada, the rest are highly underachieving. Canadian goaltending as a whole is slacking when you consider how many big players there are out there. Another name that hasn't crossed a lot of people's minds... Simon Gagne. Hell, I even forgot about him when picking my second team. However, my roster doesn't have a spot for him... He is good though.
-
I knew I forgot someone... BOUWMEESTER. In my eyes, he would have been a starting defenseman on the actual team... So I just keep forgetting he didn't make it. I'll replace Jovo with Bouwmeetser.

Doesn't have to be Red Wing plays, although the majority will, but I think it's not a bad idea to share our all time favorite goals. These aren't really set in stone for me, but they are the goals I can think of at the top of my head. Number 5... Number 4... Number 3... (Both are neck and neck) Number 2... Number 1... (Possibly everyone's) Now these videos don't have to come with a YouTube clip... If you can't find it, or are too lazy to post it, just describe it. The intention of this thread is just to relive some amazing goals that we might have forgot about.

Just because they are very rarely used in the NHL, it doesn't mean they would take wooden sticks off the market. Not everyone wants to pay $50+ for a graphite stick... over 50% of people playing pick up hockey still use wood sticks, along with several others.

He fought Boogaard! EDIT: Wait nevermind it was AARON Boogaard in the WHL. Regardless, the guy is my age, and at my age I wouldn't even dream of fighting some 30 year old goons. -
This is a common fact, but it's just easier to consider it a decade from 2000-2010... 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009... That's 10 full years.

Very good looking roster... I like it a lot, and I've been loving American players these days. They come out the gate with speed, skill, strength, and charisma.
-
I agree. This is the best play posted in this thread and I think it truly deserves a spot in the top 10 decade list.

This belongs in the Rumor Mill because...?

Kovalchuk for Phaneuf and Rene Bourque or a decent draft pick or something like that would be ideal. Phaneuf for Kovalchuk straight up would be big win for Calgary.

I personally think Semin is worth $6M... That's the perfect price for him, IMO. If you ask me, his skill is on the same level as a Marian Gaborik, or a Martin Havlat. He is a consistent point per game player obviously not known for his two way ability, but it certainly isn't hurting his team. $6M is just right for Semin... I mean I would sign him for $5.5M, but what's an extra 500K?

EDIT: Replace Darcy Tucker with Bryan McCabe... Completely forgot about him. I'd put him before Penner actually. -

How are people still spelling SIDney Crosby's name wrong? I mean people pretty much hate him because they see his name everywhere, but still manage to get it confused with a city in Australia. -
Holy Lidstrom Batman. Yes, I voted for Lidstrom... I think he's the best but not in a huge landslide over Brodeur or Thornton (More points than anyone over the last 10 years).

It really saddens me that Crosby is hated by so many. I mean seriously, he is a blast to watch play, and it might be because he "cries" or whatever, but he just overall has a passion for the game. -
Sure he isn't what many would call a great defensive player, but I think his powerplay and overall offensive abilities speak numbers. He would be very key on the first PP unit and when they're in need for an offensive boost. I mean leading all defense in points for the past 2 years should speak some volumes, and personally I think he is better than Boyle offensively, and probably equal to Boyle defensively. It's not like he would be on the team as a top 4 d-man, but he would be heavily relied on and effective.

Heatley, Marleau, Thornton, Setoguchi, Pavelski, and Clowe... Definitely the best top 6 in the league. A healthy Detroit team would contend though... Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, Filppula, Bertuzzi, Holmstrom/Cleary. Sure some of those guys are disappointing at times, but when they're playing at their best possible games, there's no comparing just how lethal they can be.
-
Elias, Jagr, Havlat, Krejci, Plekanec, Kubina, Vokoun... Some household names, and I honestly think this team will be better than a lot of people give them credit for.
-
I find it hard to believe that Bouwmeester, Lecavalier, and Green didn't make the team... While Bergeron, Doughty, and Seabrook got spots ahead of them, but hey nevertheless, this team looks super wicked.

1. Chris Pronger 2. Corey Perry 3. Mike Ribeiro 4. Dustin Penner 5. Darcy Tucker It was actually quite hard to think past the first 3. When I actually think about it, I don't really hate a lot of players. -
I think there has been threads made like this... But not in the past like 2 weeks, so I decided to contribute what I think would look best... Team Canada Ryan Getzlaf - Sidney Crosby - Jarome Iginla Dany Heatley - Joe Thornton - Rick Nash Jonathan Toews - Vincent Lecavalier - Martin St. Louis Brendan Morrow - Mike Richards - Shane Doan Steven Stamkos Jay Bouwmeester - Dion Phaneuf Chris Pronger - Scott Niedermayer Mike Green - Duncan Keith Robyn Regehr Mike Brodeur Roberto Luongo Marc Andre Fleury Team USA Zach Parise - Phil Kessel - Patrick Kane Ryan Malone - Ryan Kesler - Bobby Ryan Dustin Brown - David Legwand - Jamie Langenbrunner Jason Blake - Tim Connolly - Bill Guerin Mike Modano Erik Johnson - Brian Rafalski Ryan Whitney - Zach Bogosian Andy Greene - Ryan Suter Brooks Orpik Ryan Miller Tim Thomas Jonathan Quick My USA roster isn't as thought out... But I think it looks good. However, my Canada roster I think is exactly how it should be, with the exception of slight changes, if any. But both projected line ups look very reasonable in my eyes.

Totally agreed... I think he is one of the most overrated players in the NHL. People put him on the team for a spot on the PK and energy lines, but I can think of tons of Canadians who would are a hell of a lot better in that regard, ie. Morrow, Cleary, Richards, Kesler, Burrows, C. Armstrong, Fisher, etc, etc... If they put Staal on this team it'll only because of his name.
