I'd say more of a "rat face", but for comedic purposes, "horse face" sounds better.

Sorry, my bad.. We WOULD have probably beat Anaheim.
-
Was that by any chance the game where Crosby got 6 points?
-
With Calgary, Colorado, and Vancouver all sitting at 84 points, and Minnesota at 86 points... One of these teams are likely to end the season at 8th place. I'm not saying for sure, but I'm predicting one of these teams we will be seeing first round. Now, with that said, out of the 4 teams, who would you want to play the most to least... In that order. For me it goes... 1. Colorado - We seem to play fairly well against them and nothing is too threatening about them. Sure they picked up Forsberg, but let's face it, he's not really a threat anymore. Goaltending for them is fairly weak as well. 2. Calgary - Seemingly the same team as they were last season with Kipper not as good as he was last season. We beat them then, and we could beat them again. 3. Minnesota - Kind of scary, the chemistry and speed this team has. They might come in as a team with a passion, which they always are. They could be a threat if they have that determination that they have shown before. 4. Vancouver - One word... LUONGO. Every time we have lost in the playoffs it has always been due to stellar goaltending against us. Roloson beat us, Giguere beat us twice, Kipper beat us... Luongo can do the same. With all that said though, I believe we are capable to beat anybody we want, just have to have everybody play to full potential. Just some teams I want to play more than others. What do you say?

Modano's jersey was waving at the beginning of the season... I remember sports broadcasters talking about it in October, haha.
-
I totally agree, but with what you said... Last year's Calgary team was better than the 05/06 Oilers, IMO. The difference about last year is we played dump and chase instead of full possession into the offensive zone. We have learned since 05/06, that to win in the playoffs, it takes strong forecheck. If we played the style we did last year, we would have beat Edmonton in the first round.

He's still good. One of the best powerplay defensemen in the game if you ask me. 5.6 is alot, but if he wasn't hurt last playoffs, we might have had a shot at beating Anaheim.
-
It's still tough. Crosby has missed over 1/4 of the season, and a crucial 1/4 of the season. If Malkin didn't step it up and average like 2 points per game during that time, there is no way the Pens would be in a comfortable playoff position right now. I would probably choose Brodeur over Malkin, but it's hard to determine if Lidstrom should go before Malkin.

Definitely agreed. The most impressive thing about Bulin's save is that he had to extend his arm to reach up higher to make the save, where as in Ozzy's save (also impressive), the puck was approaching the net at eye level when he was making the save.
-
It's great that Kronwall's playing as good as Schneider. We basically lost one, but gained two.
-
Injury prone or not, he's still been playing over 60 games a season. Enough for any big starter if you ask me.
-
Ovechkin might do it. Hart, Art Ross, Richard, Pearson...? Agree?
-
Yeah, that's what I see, but yeah, why even bother having themes like that?
-
Opinions are opinions, and I respect yours, but I'd say Thornton would be way more deserving than Nabby. Nabby has been outstanding, but the Sharks without Thornton would probably be one of the worst teams in the West. Nabokov plays every game and makes good saves, but don't forget, he has some VERY good defensive defensemen in front of him. Vlasic, Rivet, MacLaren, and Carle all play pretty good shutdown roles... Even though it isn't recognized, but in their own end they are very very responsible. Adding Campbell since then has helped, obviously.
-
I don't think the debate should be about our goalies... It should be about the first three "CRUCIAL" backups that are mentioned in this list.
-
I'd do this trade... Zetterberg, Kronwall, and a 1st for Ovechkin and Green.
-
I really don't understand this, at all.
-
That's what is good about Pearson I think, or at least that's why it was created. Players are able to acknowledge overall aspects of a player's ability whereas the Hart trophy moreso recognizes them more statistically than anything. Aside from Fedorov's Hart win of course.
-
This guy did this, this guy did that... Why not throw in Wayne's 200 point seasons in there? Numbers are unreachable. Who cares if he wasn't Selke worthy, he was too busy averaging nearly 2.7 points per game EVERY season? Maybe if he only scored a whimpy 60 goals, 90 assists, he would have actually had time to play defense.
-
There is no way Pavel will reach 2nd in scoring. Malkin and Ovechkin are too far ahead for ANYONE to reach. I think Ovechkin will win Hart regardless though... Even if they don't make the playoffs, they are still a considerably good team. Next season they will be dynamite, Mike Green will probably be a top 5 defenseman, and that helps.

I guess the league only acknowledges low penalty minutes. I agree though, a low amount of penalty minutes should not go entirely hand in hand with flat out sportsmanship.
-
Patrick Kane, Jack Johnson, Erik Johnson, Bobby Ryan, Phil Kessel, Peter Mueller, Jack Skille, James Van Riemsdyk, Kyle Okposo, etc, etc...
-
I agree the Pearson shouldn't exist, but Lady Byng should. Sportsmanship is a great attribute. I also like gritty play, but I think it's good to acknowledge players that play at top level while at the same time showing a great deal of sportsmanship/respect.
-
Add Pearson to that and we have a deal.
