Yay, TSN! Finally a game I can watch in the comfort of my own living room.

Good team, but it'd probably be screwed by next year.

When we are expected to fail we've been known to fail.

Is it the same thing they use in baseball when they swing?
-
It goes. 1. Detroit 2. Ottawa 3. The rest of the NHL 4. Washington/LA That's the power of the NHL

My favourite mask ever is Steve Shields when he was on Boston. The way he made it resemble Cheevers was brilliant.

s***BREAK!

I'm hoping that come time, they pick Ozzy.

Emery's record this season: *5-3-0
-
Let's not forget his recent winning of the "Lou Marsh award" for Canadian athlete of the year. That's huge.
-
I can't provide you with the Howe one, but I love this one.
-
When Ward played for Red Deer in the WHL, he had so high expectations just because he lit it up nightly. Now, you're right, he's not that good. There's probably 20 other young goalies currently in the league with more potential to be an elite goalie.

Last month, people thought Zetterberg was the best. This month people rate Vinnie as the best. I consider it statistically biased to be rating players as the best just because they are first in league scoring. When it comes to skill level, Crosby is the best. The way he sees the ice, the way he can hold the puck along the boards, his release, every skillset he has, he masters. When teams play Pittsburgh, their strategy is always "get Crosby." That may have something to do with the fact that he doesn't have 60 points by now.

Yep, as stated earlier, Umberger got NHL.com's 2nd star of the night. http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?page=ThreeStars...mp;service=page It's not so much about hatred on Crosby for getting a star, but moreso Umberger NOT getting one.

The Red Wings, once again, are best team in the NHL. With a win tonight, we are now an amazing 22-6-2, and to the naked eye, that is a phenominal record, but do we have it all? Do we have every single aspect that could contribute to being a cup winning team? Is there something that we are missing? The way I see it, no. - We have top offensive scoring in Datsyuk and Zetterberg. - We have secondary scoring from guys like Holmstrom, Filppula, and Hudler. - We have top notch defense in Rafalski and Lidstrom. - We have double the goaltending with Osgood and Hasek (Who was a second star of the week this past week for all you haters) - We have a fighter/enforcer in Downey. - We have vocal leadership from guys like Draper, Chelios, Maltby, and Lidstrom, - We have a penalty kill. ...and more. With all of those credentials, are we still a team in need of something with hopes of winning a Stanley Cup, or could you very well see this team as a cup contender?
-
Yes, I saw this too, and I was outraged. I can put a 100% guarantee on the fact that Umberger will be an NHL.com 2nd star though.
-
You don't even have to watch him. All you have to do is look at his stats, and realize that he averages 28-30 minutes per game every season. With that, you see that his team averages the fewest shots against per game every year with him being the leader of the pack. Lidstrom is no fluke, that's for sure.
-
People need to learn to deal with it. I hated him first year he was around, but even then, he was bound to be the next generational player. Another Howe, Gretzky, Lemieux, and Orr. He will probably end his career as one of the best to play the game and you need to learn to deal with it!
-
Yeah, it's very stupid. You can't compare. It's like comparing a wide receiver to a cornerback.

I'm going to suggest random categories and you name the best in the NHL at these categories... Best stickhandlers 1. Datsyuk 2. Ovechkin 3. Briere 4. Crosby 5. Kovalev Most vicious hitters 1. Phaneuf 2. Exelby 3. Chara 4. Komisarek 5. Sutton One on one defenders 1. Lidstrom 2. Volchenkov 3. Regher 4. Mitchell 5. Bouwmeester Most vicious snipers 1. Kovalchuk 2. Ovechkin 3. Heatley 4. Zetterberg 5. Nash Undrafted players 1. St. Louis 2. Rafalski 3. J. Blake 4. Penner 5. Madden

When Kolzig was good, people knew. He has a Vezina to prove it.
-
1. Brady 2. Manning 3. Romo 4. Favre 5. Garrard The fact that Garrard only has ONE interception all season is amazing, but it might have alot to do with him handing it to Jones-Drew and Taylor all the time.

Fedorov. I still think he should have won Conn Smythe. Lapointe, goals? Maybe. Kocur? Not really.
