    Hall of Fame Worthy Players

That was such a good ramble, it was worth mentioning twice! Nah, seriously, I agree with you. He's a very accomplished player and not by luck. Hall shoe-in.

    Hall of Fame Worthy Players

I think he was asking why Jagr is a shoe-in, and if so, then that has me asking why Jagr is not a shoe-in. He's the most successful European hockey player on the planet, maybe aside from Lids whatever way you look at it. What Fedorov actually did for us should outweigh any of his flaws. I honestly can't see us winning 3 cups without him, and if he would have stayed, maybe we would have accomplished more.

Best Current Era Red Wing Team

Definitely 96/97. From top to bottom we had everything, all lines were unstoppable. I really think the absence of Vladdy and Fetisov made 97/98 the weaker team out of the back-to-back cups, but with that said, they were the most determined and inspirational team. 01/02, you can say was the better team on paper, but by comparison, I just considered the 96/97 team more lethal, and had more chemistry.
  4. I like Carter, but I wouldn't trade one of our defensive forwards (and probably more) for him.

    Trade Deadline Options

I could see Hossa being moved come trade deadline, just not necessarily to Detroit. However if the standings have any resemblance like they do now come deadline time with Ottawa and Detroit being the best two teams in the league, I think if he had an option between the two, it'd would be Detroit.

    Complicated Osgood Question

He may get in the HOF, but there will be a handful of others getting in before him with all do respect.

    Next Question (LGW STYLE)

A few questions... If you don't know the answer just say next question, ready? - If you had to replace one Russian Five player for Pavel Datsyuk to play on that line, who would it be? - If Chris Chelios retired before he went to Detroit, would he still be deserving of the HOF (You know that's where he'll be)? - Is Sergei Fedorov a definite top 5 for all time TWO WAY PLAYER? - Number 9 is probably the most legendary number in NHL history, therefore who is more responsible for this, Maurice Richard or Gordie Howe? - If... sorry... WHEN the Wings win the cup in '08, who should Lidstrom hand it to first? - Henrik Zetterberg is on pace for 137 points, how close will he be from actually accomplishing this feat? - If Igor Larionov and Pavel Datsyuk played together, who would be the goal scorer and who would be the playmaker? - Zetterberg re-signing with Detroit when he becomes UFA is highly likely... How much will he sign for? - Rafalski or Schneider? - Out of every player on the Red Wings roster, which one is likely to troll LGW from time to time? Thanks, you were wonderful OTR is brought to you by: The Keg Steakhouse & Bar!

Notable list of busts as per Wikipedia: 1999-Patrick Stefan, Atlanta Thrashers (1st overall) 1999-Pavel Brendl, New York Rangers (4th overall) 1997-Daniel Tkaczuk, Calgary Flames (6th overall) 1996-Alexandre Volchkov, Washington Capitals (4th overall) 1994-Jason Bonsignore, Edmonton Oilers (4th overall) 1993-Alexandre Daigle, Ottawa Senators (1st overall) 1992-Ryan Sittler, Philadelphia Flyers (7th overall) 1991-Pat Falloon, San Jose Sharks (2nd overall) 1989-Dave Chyzowski, New York Islanders (2nd overall) 1987-Bryan Fogarty, Quebec Nordiques (7th overall) 1983-Brian Lawton, Minnesota North Stars (1st overall) 1982-Gord Kluzak, Boston Bruins (1st overall) 1980-Doug Wickenheiser, Montreal Canadiens (1st overall) 1975-Barry Dean, Kansas City Scouts (2nd overall) 1974-Greg Joly, Washington Capitals (1st overall) Now... Compare Lindros to them, try it.

    Next Question (LGW STYLE)

I felt it was necessary for me to answer some of my own q's. - If you had to replace one Russian Five player for Pavel Datsyuk to play on that line, who would it be? Kozlov - If Chris Chelios retired before he went to Detroit, would he still be deserving of the HOF (You know that's where he'll be)? Very easily, I don't know why I even asked this to be honest. - Is Sergei Fedorov a definite top 5 for all time TWO WAY PLAYER? Yes, I think he was. Not to many players can say they won a Hart trophy over Lemieux and Gretzky mainly because of their two way game. For his whole career he has been a BEAST in both ends, even including now. - Number 9 is probably the most legendary number in NHL history, therefore who is more responsible for this, Maurice Richard or Gordie Howe? Howe is Mr. Hockey, but Richard obtained it first. - If... sorry... WHEN the Wings win the cup in '08, who should Lidstrom hand it to first? Somebody answered it well, whoever played best... However, giving it to Zetterberg would be the best option, he's the main cup virgin on the team. - Henrik Zetterberg is on pace for 137 points, how close will he be from actually accomplishing this feat? The slump will indeed come, but I can see a 110 pt. minimum, 123 pt. maximum. - If Igor Larionov and Pavel Datsyuk played together, who would be the goal scorer and who would be the playmaker? Datsyuk can snipe it - Zetterberg re-signing with Detroit when he becomes UFA is highly likely... How much will he sign for? I predict a long term 7 per season... 8 year, 56M I can see. - Rafalski or Schneider? Rafalski, better defensively. - Out of every player on the Red Wings roster, which one is likely to troll LGW from time to time? Of course.... Chelios.

Eric Lindros, bust or biggest bust ever?

1992-Jun-30 Traded from Quebec Nordiques to Philadelphia Flyers for Chris Simon, Mike Ricci, Kerry Huffman, Ron Hextall, Peter Forsberg, Steve Duchesne, future considerations, round 1 pick in the 1994 draft, round 1 pick in the 1993 draft and cash. 15 years later would you have suggested that this guy is likely not going to the HOF?

    Shutout x 5...

Last night's sworm of shutouts, is that the most in league history? I mean 5 shutouts, wow. Pittsburgh, Carolina, NY Rangers, Montreal, and Dallas all won via shutout. Maybe 5 shutouts isn't the record, but it has to be up there, or maybe a record considering 63% of the games played were shutouts.

Former NHLer LeClair charged wtih DUI

"Former NHLer Leclair" charged with DUI? It's like when they say that they're talking about a nobody, it's Mr. L.O.D., 3-time 50 goal scorer himself, John Leclair. Pretty big news really.
