There is a possibility a player can average 50 goals per season in an 18 year span. Joe Sakic is 38 and he can score like the young guys. Picture it, Ovechkin being 22 years old, it's hard to not imagine him having some 60+ goal seasons during his career along with 40, 50, 60 goal seasons coming along a 20 year span, he could hit 900. Being the hot sniper that John Tavares is, maybe he'll do it.

It's pretty much impossible for Wayne's records to be broken. He did it at a time where there was no salary cap, wayyy crappier goalies, and pretty bad defensemen in comparison to now. It's even hard to picture a player reaching 140 points ever again. The only major record I see getting broken is his 894 goal record, I can see somebody reaching 900.

Robert Lang was leading the NHL in scoring when he first came here, but those numbers came with the Caps.

If the teams were made today... (Starters in bold) WEST Forwards Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Iginla, Nash, Thornton, Kopitar, Langkow, Sakic, Kariya, Holmstrom, Tanguay, Cammalleri Defense Rafalski, Lidstrom, Phaneuf, Visnovsky, Aucoin, Pronger Goalies Leclaire, Backstrom, Nabokov EAST Forwards Brind'Amour, Sundin, Ovechkin, Crosby, Heatley, Spezza, Briere, E. Staal, Lecavalier, Alfredsson, Malkin, Stillman Defense Campbell, A. Markov, Gonchar, Kaberle, Redden, Hamrlik Goalies Biron, Gerber, Lundqvist I think the goalies will be completely changed though. Luongo, Kipper, Brodeur, and Giguere are all among goalies who'll probably end up playing.

Yeah, it's way too early in the season to make a bold prediction like that. I can recall the top 5 scorers at the same time last season looking nothing like they did at the end of the season. The turning point of last season was Crosby getting that 6 point game in Philly, topping all scorers, and the turning point of the season before was Thornton going to San Jose and owning there. Point being, there's always a turning point during the season, a player has one good game and just explodes, and something like that could happen again. I'm not ruling Z out though, I hope he does something crazy like that.

You're right now that I look at it, maybe not. Even if the Jets actually were an active team, he only played a total of not even 4 full seasons there.

If players were to retire today, I'd consider all these possibilities... - Mark Recchi with the Flyers - Paul Kariya with the Ducks - Saku Koivu with the Habs - Rob Blake with the Kings - Markus Naslund with the Canucks - Brodeur with the Devils - Sakic with the Avs - Selanne with the Ducks - Ryan Smyth with the Oilers - Sundin with the Leafs - Lidstrom with the Wings - Modano with the Stars - Alfredsson with the Sens

Might be the steal of the century. Calgary's MVP for the last few years.

He has to be the most serious, determined kid I have ever seen. He'll let in a goal, and following every goal, he will always keep his composure. Pretty much all goalies have that attitude, PLAY TO WIN.

Boulerice's incident should be up there.

Dear Holland... Sign Steve Stamkos!

Comprehensive list of 50 goal and 100 point getters...

Every year, there is a surprise player to reach 100, which is why I don't think it'd be a stretch for Kopitar to maybe hit 100. He has top notch skill and to deny him of it makes him highly underrated. -
Lidstrom can bring out a good argument. The way I see it, it comes in terms of value... Without Zetterberg, we would be a good team, probably not as good, but still contenders. Crosby on the other hand, the Pens really need him, he's the player that makes or breaks them and probably the most valuable to any team maybe aside from Luongo and Brodeur. That's where Lids comes in, because his presence is EXTREMELY valuable.

Please don't say Sidney Crosby? Well why the hell not? Pearson, Hart, and Art Ross winner has got to mean something.

Are the only possible channels I have to watch games... Can someone give me an approximate estimate of how many Wings games I'll be able to watch? NONE YET! I declare this thread for those in Windsor who only have regular cable... FOX2 MORE OFTEN!

I was going to reply by saying how hard it is to get a ticket, but then I realized how lousy the Joe's doing so far.

Langkow is a dick... If any Wing fan appreciates Langkow after that shot on Lebda, well I don't know, but he's a dickhead. -
I get to watch 7 games, sweet. Thanks though man. Sucks balls, but I did forget about NBC which televises a game pretty much every weekend in the latter part of the season.

With 4 out of 5 teams over .500, it's looking good, but I don't see Columbus and St. Louis lasting too long.

I just find it so humorous that our two biggest scapegoats now play for Chi-Town. Seeing them succeed there beyond expectations is good though, both guys mean no harm.
