Yes, the Penguins really need Esposito.

The Wings are just waiting to draft Esposito.

what are our chances of keeping our 1st rd pick ?
BeeRYCE replied to kindlwillbegreat's topic in General
Todd Bertuzzi + Roberto Luongo = Roberto Bortuzzo. I guess if you combined the two, you'd have a pretty good defenseman, let's pick him up. -
This world is filled with what ifs. What if Hitler lived until 100? What if Tu Pac was still alive? What if Vladdy played until 40? I honestly can't say Yzerman's presence would have made a difference. He would have been effective, but it wouldn't have made too much of a difference. Maybe our powerplay would have improved, but that's about it. Who knows if he would have played on the PP. It wouldn't have made a difference. If the Yzerman of 1998 was there, yes, then again we wouldn't be able to afford the Yzerman of '98.

The dark jerseys should be home shirts. Showcasing the team's main colour at home is the way it should be. The away teams should be just plain and basic white. Once in awhile they should be able to wear the whites at home, just for the hell of it.

Okay good points. How about this I consider Daigle more of a disappointment because he had greater expectations. At the time, Daigle was unanimously the 1st overall pick. 1999, being one of the weakest drafts of all time, it could have been anyone. 1993 everyone knew Daigle was going number 1.
-
Daigle had a solid career? He was 1st overall. Usually that warrants a 1st line position throughout your whole career. He was 3rd liner, 4th liner, and minor leaguer during his NHL time. If Stefan was mentioned, he should have been, as I have a feeling Stefan will actually step it up a bit.

Anybody would have put them 3 in their list. No shocker. What I am shocked about is probably the most disappointing pick EVER, Alexander Daigle.

I know alot of players rate Steve Yzerman as their idol and major influence. I can think of: Sidney Crosby Vinnie LeCavalier Joe Thornton Jason Spezza I know there are more, help me out. It's just crazy how the best players today looked up to Stevie amongst other players. 3 of the best hockey players in the world today (Thornton, Sid, Vinnie), look up to him, and I know this from interviews. Not Mario, not Wayne, not Messier... YZERMAN.

Well 5 million may be too high, but it isn't unheard of. I could see an inclining contract (I don't know the fancy terms for it), but in this contract I could see him getting maybe 5.5 in his final season in the contract. You can say he had one brilliant season, but I think he had a great rookie season too.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one... but why?

1. Claude Lemieux 2. Patrick Roy 3. Chris Pronger 4. Darcy Tucker 5. Bryan McCabe (Those are my top 5) As far as all around hated by the general public, it would look something like... 1. Claude Lemieux 2. Ulf Samuelsson 3. Chris Chelios 4. Todd Bertuzzi 5. Bobby Clarke

Vanek is worth at least 5 million. 2 million a year? Not happening.

Those are nice hats, I need a Red Wing one.

Very nice post you made. You have actually cleared everything up for me. Very appreciated.

Rumor: Blue Jackets may buy out Fedorov's contract
BeeRYCE replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
Cut his contract in half and he'd be welcome there (or anywhere for that matter) with open arms. 6.08 for him is far too hefty. I'd take him at maybe 3 or less. -
GREAT MOVE.

Wow, the Flyers will be so much better. Hartnell and Timonen are the two top guys I would have picked up. Don't expect another flop of a season from Philly. Their draft pick this year is going to be good too. Just wow.
-
Top 10: Bobby Orr Ray Bourque Doug Harvey Nicklas Lidstrom Eddie Shore Denis Potvin Larry Robinson Chris Chelios Al Macinnis Brian Leetch That's the way I see it.
-
Yeah, Paul Coffey is the Scott Niedermayer of the past. As for your post Eva, you seem to be correct, but I just can't place Eddie Shore over Nick. I think Nick has paid enough dues to move on to the top 4, but I would guess 4 MVPs would be hard to contend with.

The Sens didn't want to have to deal with Havlat's injury prone credentials. They got Tom Preissing in that deal as well which isn't bad. It lead to better cap space. As for Redden, you wouldn't be saying that if he didn't have the s***ty season he had this year, but at the end of last season, I would have said the same thing. Redden over Chara, any day. At the end of last season, Redden's 6.5 was a worthy payment. John Muckler isn't psychic, he didn't know that Redden wouldn't perform as well this season. As for Gerber, 3.7 isn't bad. Considering he was one of the key ingredients for the Canes in 05/06 as far as getting them to playoffs. He was outshined by Ward, still was a good goalie, and still worth the 3.7 Gerber is what Biron was to Buffalo, what Toskala is to San Jose, just outshined, but still capable. That's what Muckler saw, Gerber playing the role of a starter. Again, he's not psychic and didn't know Gerber would underachieve and didn't know Emery would outperform him. I didn't see anything wrong with anything Muckler did last season. He did right, but was just blessed with a series of unfortunate events.

Yeah, but I have a hard time saying Radivojevic.
-
Ohh, he had a bad series against the Ducks, so did every other team. He's one of the best GMs in hockey, I just can't fathom this idea.
-
What a great move for both teams. I believe in Samsonov and believe he'll succeed in Chicago. He just wasn't too comfortable with the Habs. As for Montreal's side, Tony Salmailnen will be a great player, trust me, and Cullimore isn't bad for depth. I'm truly exciting, Samsonov and Havlat might very well play good together, and if not Havlat, Ruutu.

I agree, but him not taking paycuts leads me to worry about Z when he becomes UFA, because you know he's taking a good 6.
