    Are you kidding me?

Yeah, I was just going to say that. I thought it was mandatory for players under 25 to wear one, but I guess not.

    Ryan Smyth

We don't need Smyth. He'd be good and all, but we already have his work ethic in guys like Cleary, Franzen, and Draper, and we already have his ability to play in the crease in Holmstrom.

    Doan Re-Signs: 5 years, $23 million

I don't know, not too hefty of a contract. I'd say he's worth it, or at least can be.

10 best Russian NHLers of all time?

If Vladdy had not been in that limo, he would for sure be up there. Vladdy would probably still be in the NHL, and would probably have a couple Norrises under his belt. I just believe that Zhitnik playing close to 1000 games makes him more established in the NHL than Vladdy. If my list were determined by skill levels and strictly that, Vladdy would be there, as would Ovechkin and Kovalchuk, maybe Datsyuk.

10 best Russian NHLers of all time?

    1. Fedorov 2. Bure 3. Mogilny 4. Zubov 5. Kovalev 6. Gonchar 7. Khabibulin 8. Zhitnik 9. Yashin 10. Larionov I determined my list by achieved success. I wouldn't think it's fair to include Konstantinov, a guy that didn't even play 500 NHL games. Then there's Ovechkin and Kovalchuk, it's too early in their careers to list them amongst the top 10. Then again, I based my list by established, achieved success, so I have different viewpoints. It goes without a doubt that guys Kovalchuk, Malkin, Ovechkin, Datsyuk, Afinogenov, and Semin may all very well end their careers as elite names on that list.

2/12 GDT: Red Wings @ Flyers

This game hurt me in the inside.

MLive: Forsberg talk heats up, deal "in days"?

They should have a WWE type thing tonight. Forsberg screws over the Philly crowd and goes with the Wings tonight. BY GAWD FORSBERG'S A RED WING YOU HAVE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME! BY GAWD.. WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT WEEK ON... VERSUS!

TSN: Red Wings interested in Bertuzzi

The most illogical post I have ever read. Yeah, Todd has surely built a reputation for breaking necks hasn't he? I think the situation should be past him, it happened literally 3 years ago. The last thing we need is more penalties? Yeah, not peneltys... Todd Bertuzzi averages about just as much penalties as Shanahan did for us when he was here. Plus, our penalty problem isn't a factor anymore, it just was for like a 2-3 week period, that's it. Not ONE player on the Wings is even averaging a minute per game.

    Holland "eyeing" four players

Forsberg CAN hit though. He isn't the soft player that people put him out to be, it's just people think that because he's injury prone. Having a healthy Forsberg can only benefit the team, center or not.

Ook Ook to tie Tim Horton's record

Think the record of 960+ games by Doug Jarvis will ever be broken? I think NOT. Still pretty impressive by Skrastins though. WHAT! I don't know where I'd be without Tim Horton's. Large regular coffee with a sesame seed bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese... MAN.
  12. I didn't watch the game, but I notice that Macdonald had more shots against then Hasek. I do believe there's a reason for that, and that is because Hasek a) doesn't give up as much rebounds b) pokechecks alot, and c) plays the puck more.

    Identify the player

Red Wings, Mighty Ducks, Canucks, Flyers, Lightning, Panthers, Senators, Blue Jackets, Coyotes, Blues, Predators, Islanders. It had to be done.

What other cheap shotting cowards do they have?

TSN: Red Wings interested in Bertuzzi

Surrounded by a good team, yes. He needs to get past his demons, and he's going to. This year, he's at 7 games with 7 points on the Panthers. Still a point per game player, and still more than likely a 30-40 goal scorer. Not to mention he's only 32, not old at all, pretty much the average age of an NHLer.

TSN: Red Wings interested in Bertuzzi

Forget the past people and what he did to Moore. Live in the now, and in realization. Surround this guy with a good team like the Wings, and we have ourselves an absolute dominant player. Power forward, plays with grit, scores, and has determination. I feel he's everything we need and then some.

    Robin Big Snake Update

The first person who says something about needing this guy for grit, I will personally go, buy a plane ticket, head over to where you live and lay you right out. If you say it, you better be from Windsor/Detroit, makes it easier for me.

    McGrattan to The Pens ?

Well Pittsburgh will get someone soon to protect Crosby. Malone has done a good job, Crosby has done a good job defending himself, but it's simply not their jobs.

Nikolai Zherdev on the Trade Block

I'd take a risk for him as well. I think having him here could only benefit the team and wouldn't hurt us. What Zherdev is missing in Columbus is the much needed chemistry. Well, that could really develop here. Plus having two Z's on the team would be nifty.

    where were you when...

It was my aunt's 40th birthday party. We were outside with a bunch of chairs set up and a small TV in the middle with all of us just watching. I was only 9 years old, but I knew more about hockey than anybody, and I was the only Red Wing fan there except my dad. Basically McCarty scored, and I went nuts, looked like a fool, but hey, who cares? In essence, it was great.

    Tucker being shopped per spectors

I thought the Thornton trade was one sided...

    Tucker being shopped per spectors

Let's face it, he has every single aspect we need. - Top two line winger. - Solid on the PP. - Gritty. - Can hit. - Puts in a whole lot of effort. Unfortunately, his name is Darcy Tucker, but it sucks because he has EVERYTHING we need. I would probably like him on Detroit. He's an agitator, and agitators usually end up to be a favourite player on the team, and a hated player on opposing teams. Bring him here!
  24. A trade with the likes of Forsberg for Nabokov and a pick would be really reasonable. However, I don't know what Colorado would do. I just don't imagine him going back to Colorado really.

Ovechkin. BOTH ARE ON MY FANTASY!
