Your double overtime shutout of St Louis in 96, going toe to toe with a much bigger Patrick Roy and then proving your playoff toughness in 98. Saving the team from a Nashville upset and only losing 4 total games on way to a cup in 08. But most importantly thanks for never changing your mask and keeping the old school look right up until 2010!

These are "schedule losses" nothing more, nothing less. This happens to the wings every year, always has, always will, until the NHL gets there act together and puts Detroit where they belong-Eastern Conference. No Eastern Time zone team out there can play on the west coast for a week, conclude it with 3 games in 4 nights, which includes coming across the country, playing through jet lag, and play a complete 60 min game all within 36 hours. Wings are fine, will win the division, conference, and cup as this team looks to be a clone of the 08 Champs.

We can’t win the cup because our goaltending isn’t good enough and we are too old........hmmmmmmm......now i know I’ve heard that somewhere before.............oh yeah! 97,98,02 and 08 season previews.

Great season guys...enjoy the off season, they deserve some rest. As long as bettman's baby doesn’t win the cup, it'll be an ok summer.

i didnt realize the league wanted a SJS Pit final. Doesnt bettman know his baby will need to fly cross country and may tire him out.

I don’t buy the conspiracy theories either, there were a lot of interesting things that happened in those 7 games, like the too many men, not suspending malkin, that asinine schedule. But in the end the redwings just could not put an inferior pens team away bottom line. And the biggest reason for this I think, goes back to round 2 and there 7 game series with the ducks. After game 7 Babcock and the players all said that was the most physical, emotional, hardest series they had ever played in there life and the wings never really recovered from that series. They got zero rest between semi final and conference finals and zero rest between Conference final and SCF. That ducks team took a major-MAJOR chuck of life and energy out of the wings and in the end were just unable to finish the deal. Life and sports are full of "what ifs".....but I’m convinced the wings don’t play Anaheim or beat the ducks in 6 games, they win the cup.

Well this trade really doesn’t bother me, SJ has proven they are not a good playoff team. They will win their division, the conference and probably the president trophy again, but does anyone really see them getting out of the 2nd round just because they've added Heatly to an already flaud playoff team? I think not.

Love being a canadian, TSN ALL THE WAY, never have to worry about this kind of BS. They get there own games AND pick up all the VS games too. plus first 3 round of the playoffs then on to CBC for the finals

Detroit.....still better up front even with the losses and WAAAAY deeper on defence and I’d have to smoke a lot of crack before I take huet over Osgood. The hawks will push det for the division but will not win it.

if this is true this is the hawks trying to screw the wings and in process will screw themselves, with campbell contract, huet, then kane and toews needing contracts soon, and the cap going down most likely next year this team will fall apart real soon.
