And that punk Giordano takes Cleary into the boards. What a classless move by him.
-
And Cleary's back? What a trooper.
-
That was a huge sequence for the Wings. Dom and the rest of the penalty-killers were great.
-
Chelios? No way.
-
And the Wings get the only penalty in a scrum involving both teams. This is getting old.
-
You were close. You knew he couldn't stay off the scoresheet for long.
-
Good period for Dom. I think he needed that.
-
Apparently we're not allowed to enter Kipper's crease without getting a penalty. What a joke.

Time warp: 2001, wings lose in 6, give up 2-0 lead

I guess that's what's so disappointing about dropping two in Calgary. I think the back-to-back games on Saturday and Sunday really do benefit a team like the Flames. But if the Wings have any dignity or pride left, they'll come out hard in Game 5. -

True, but I'd imagine the Flames might just have a little bit of momentum going into Game 5. And in the post-season, regular season trends like home and road records often don't remain the same. -

You make a very strong case SWF, but it's unreasonable to expect any of us to be pleased after what happened tonight. -

At the same time, I'd like to mention how stupid certain people were (not you HC) for writing this series off as a sweep after Games 1 and 2. You'd think we'd know better than that, but this year's team is once again proving to us just how quickly things change. Try to keep in mind we blew a two game lead to the Preds in '04 before eventually winning the series. But the contrast in our play at home and on the road in this series has been absolutely astounding. -
You're telling me that with a minute left to play in a one goal game, it doesn't matter than Lang cannot complete a 10 foot pass to any of the teammates standing around him? Yeah the whole team sucks right now. But Lang's lazy, uninspired play really emobdies what's wrong with this team.
-
Watching Lang attempting to get the puck out of our zone in the dying seconds of the third was one of the most pitiful twenty second spans of hockey I've ever seen. His play has been undefendable not only in the post-season, but for the last several months.
-
After this game, it looks to me like we have the exact same team that blew it against the Oilers and Flames in our past two post-seasons. I'm certainly not saying the Wings are finished, but they simply embarassed themselves in Calgary and re-established themselves as the NHL's premier playoff chokers.
-
Man was I ever upset on that play. If Z isn't being held onto, he'd have gotten to that puck and Iginla would've never scored. I don't know why, but in the post-season, the Wings simply cannot win close, evenly-matched games like these. The only way Detroit wins is if they dominate the game from start to finish like we did in Games 1 and 2.

True. Yelle went down awfully easy there to try and draw a penalty. I know these CBC announcers may not be the best. But honestly, they're way better than who we had calling the Edmonton series last year. Do you guys remember the colour commentator, John Garrett? That man had a personal vendetta against Tomas Holmstrom.
-
You just know the Zetterberg/Datsyuk/Holmstrom line is gonna get one at some point. They were buzzing in that period.
-
That was a bit of a mental mistake by Lilja. He's had a good game otherwise.
-
Draper's had an excellent game.
-
That line was due.
-
Yeah, Samuelsson, that's not going in.
-
Apparently it's open season on Dominik Hasek. And we were really starting to take it to Calgary, too.
-
Calgary. Meet Todd Bertuzzi.

I think we look better this period. It's nice to see Flip getting more ice time.
