Wisniewski makes obscene gesture towards Avery
Booster313 replied to 10 Minute Misconduct's topic in General
Actually from what I hear he is a class act. He spent a couple of hours this summer with a youth hockey team in Canton telling them all about playing in the NHL. (He didn't include gestures!)I love how people jump all over him for this, like you have never said something in anger that was off color. f*** I say s*** like that all the god damn time. Glass houses people...glass houses. -
Post a picture of the gray one! And wear the blue just for grins.

Congrats Mike!

Fil is a dominate two-way forward, he is great on faceoffs, and a good value at 3mill per year. He is not meant to be nor will he ever be a first line forward, but he is a great all around player that provides secondary scoring and should have some more offensive upside then what he's been able to produce so far. Is is a key part of the Red Wings. Is he a super fantasy value, well that depends on how deep of a league you play in but they are two entirely different questions. Abdelkader and Helm both look to be future Wings stars, but neither would be on anyone's fantasy draft list.

On a side note what's going on with Kevin Smith and Mitch Albom's hockey movie that is supposed to be shot here in Detroit?

I call him Modano or Moe... I think Mike Motown is better reserved for someone who has spent of their life here improving the city, team, etc. Although I get the play on words. Mike Ilitch would be a better suited "Motown Mike".

The CBS radio app carries 97.1 lots of options.

I won the presidents trophy on NHL 11 this year, Drew was available, so I sent an 8.5 million dollar offer sheet and he still signed in LA for like 6.3, ******!

I'll take superimposed adds on the glass over actual adds on the jersey or ice any day of the week. There has to be a happy medium somewhere. I hope this won't happen because of jersey sales. I wouldn't buy a jersey if it had companies on it.

Removing homer glasses for a minute, I can see how you wouldn't call it a "win" and maybe a draw, but then you factor in that Perry is supposed to be tougher than Dats, and if you are forced to pick a winner ou have to give the edge to Dats. Was it a beat down, no... But did Dats have the edge in a fight he should have been out classed in? ( this guy won the Lady Byng 3 times!) Absolutely! Those facts make it a win for Dats!

First goal on first shift and first shot, doesn't get any better.... Except that is was a beautiful one too! No garbage goals here.

If you look historically at Lids defense partners all all tend to have career numbers in both points and +\- sure he has been paired with some good players but a lot of that is Lids himself, that's just the thing to inspire confidence in a young E with budding potential.

Priorities man, I wouldn't go see Elvis Friday, even if he rose from the dead.

I will be there.

You don't have to be the best player on the team to be a captain, you just have to work hard every shift, and be a leader on and off the ice. Draper for instance was never one of the Wings better players but would make an excellent captain.

Dandy's retirement got me thinking, sure he has never been a great defensman, but he's only 34 years old. There are so many fringe players, either by skill or age that are without work this year. If you look at the Wings, if there were no salary cap more than likely we'd still have Lilja, and Maltby, Draper, Miller, and Ritola wouldn't be fighting for one last spot. Now I know that part of this is progression and a changing of the guard, I love our youth and they certainly deserve a chance to prove themselves, that being said part of what has made the Red Wings great is the loyalty to our players and the cap is making it increasingly harder to do that. Even if you do think Miller is slightly better than Ritola this year, more than likely we'll be forced to keep Ritola on because of the upside in future years or risk losing him. So here is my two cents for a solution, drafted players should be protected from waivers if their contracts put the team over the salary cap when moving them between the NHL and AHL, or maybe a system where you can Franchise Tag one or two players that don't count against the cap each year? I am not opposed to the cap, but the system clearly isn't working. Is it distributing talent, yes but in terms of financial stability the small market teams are doing no better and are no more competitive. The floor this year is 43.4 million that's withing a fraction of the salary cap in 2005 and higher than the smaller market teams ever wanted to spend. Please discuss...

Z will score 50 simply because he is going to be on my fantasy team.

That's awesome!

Photographs in newspapers both local and national, also local news coverage on tv.

Mike Ilitch doesn't co-mingle funds between teams, so in theory what he spends on one should have no bearing on the other.

Why would you laugh, we offered Lils a contract, he thought he could do better on the open market. He should be here, it's his fault. I am also willing to bet his contract ends up less than what the Wings offered.

I know that Matt has been working hard on revamping the entire site for the season opener, but that he would rather get it right than hold himself to that deadline. My guess is you will see a wallpaper and a redesigned site my mid-October. As for the pocket schedules, any day now. Check Little Ceasers

I agree with this statement, that being said I think that Eaves is safe.
