It's a fair price, I know some would like us to sign the other FA 6'3 220 fowards with decent hands that put up almost 50pts and a ppg in the playoffs for the bargain basement price of 1.5million...(crickets)

Now I just have to figure out how to get KHL games here!?

I would like Maxim Afinegenov if we have to replace Bertuzzi... but I don't mind Bert coming back.

Yzerman asks Wings for permission to speak with capologist Martin
Booster313 replied to Yzermania19's topic in General
Maybe we should call the Red Wings and ask to speak permission Ryan Martin for the LGW Capologist?? -
I would be happy with Kov or Fro...

Percentage of starts next year for Howard and Osgood
Booster313 replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
Ken Holland said they would like to get around 20 starts out of Ozzie so that puts the percentage at 24.390244 for Ozzie and 75.609756 for Howie, or 24/76 if you prefer. -
If Lidstrom does indeed retire would you opposed to the Wings offering all of the money to Kovalchuk for a one year contract? Given the lack of high free agent defensemen available?

Steve Moore is not paralyzed... Bertuzzi broke his neck, but did not damage his spinal cord. Steve walks and talks just fine, he is just too fragile to take a chance playing hockey again. He can do everything you and I can do, albiet in more pain. This is not to defend anything, I have my opinion on the issue and I will keep it to myself, I simply want people to know the facts.

I beat you to it. I bought mine on the Monday before the playoffs began. I wasn't a Howard fan at all prior to this season, and early on he did little to change my mind. However his calming play from November on converted me. Although I believe that if given the opportunity that Ozzie could have played through his slump... it simply wasn't an option for the Wings to gamble with points this season, and by the time that we did have a playoff spot locked up it was simply not long enough to get Ozzie ready. Jimmy had to be the guy, and so far he's done a great job of it. I hope to see him here for a long time to come.

I am a Detroit fan... therefore I cannot read!
-
I hope you win too and in the name of entertainment I can understand the bet, however I think it's bad luck to bet on your own team. I never put money or anything else on the Wings. We'll give you a pass since you are a DJ... you guys will do anything for ratings!

QFT Babcock said during the post game that it was good it wasn't a night game so they wouldn't have as hard a time with the adjustment.

So thanks for the video links, I have two questions though, are there any where Hasek actually stops the puck?! LOL And your goalies get run there constantly huh? No goalie interference calls? It looked like in one video the opposing team goalie had the puck covered and got ran, the puck came loose and they counted the goal. CRAZY.

^ I was going to say that but didn't want to get flamed! Plus I wouldn't want to displace Ozzie. Dom is my fav but Ozzie deserves better than getting run out of town twice.
-
So excited for Dom, I was so looking forward to watching him play in the Olympics. :(I wish they would televise or at least stream his games. He is the greatest goalie or our era, no disrespect to Lou, Marty, or Pat. Now if only those jersey's weren't so damn ugly!

This team would look a little different if Holland had known in June that Hudler intended to defect. The arbitration and the IIHF tied his hands until late in the summer, that being said he did a pretty decent job with what amounts to a hail mary in the free agency.
-
No No... you did that on your own.
-
He was good, not great but very solid, you can't pin the loss on him. That's really all I was looking for from him. He looked cool, calm, and collected. It can only get better from here. I think we may have our goalie for the foreseeable future.
-
I want to see Jimmy get some rubber on him. I am nervous for him. (As I wear his brand new Jersey)
-
I think putting money on your team is bad luck.. I will bet but never on or against the Wings, anything else is fair game
-
I think the fact that we have Larsson and McCollum in the minors might keep Howard honest.

(Another) Interesting article about teams relocating
Booster313 replied to whitewolf406's topic in General
Actually I heard Ken Holland, Steve Yzerman, and Ken Daniels discuss this very topic in person at the season ticket fan appreciation event summer of 2008, Holland said that he has discussed it with the league and that if and when a team moves from the East the Red Wings are first in line to move to the eastern conference, he sited ratings for the reason the league was so keen on the idea. The Red Wings are one of the highest television rated NHL teams but people aren't staying up and the cannot feature Wings vs. _______ (insert West coast team) nation wide when the games are starting at 10-10:30 pm. Maybe things have changed since then so take it for what you will! -
Wings Fatigued from the Last Few Playoff Runs?
Booster313 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
I don't see how that can have any effect on them this season, if I run 10 miles today and my friend runs three miles today, and we both take a month off to rest, we'll be starting even again assuming that neiher of us were injured. It's an excuse. -
Teams that Should Have Never Changed their Jerseys
Booster313 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Not sure on the colors but the reason that the logo changed was because of the ownership change. Disney was the original owner of the "Mighty Ducks", the logo was developed by Disney for the movie and the team, when Disney sold the ducks they retained the rights to Mighty Ducks, and the Logo... therefore they became just "Ducks" and had to develop a new jersey logo. Changing the colors was probably just an effort to further distance themselves from the previous design.
