    draft?

I honestly don't know a lot about the incoming class this year except there is a defensman and a forward at the 1/2 pick position so I cannot answer your question, one thing is certain though, no matter who we draft...they'll end up being damned good.

Holland: Defense is set, waiting for cap figure

Hossa's teammates seem to disagree with you, everyone from Zetterberg to Lidstrom to Maltby to Osgood to Babcock has said how great he has been to play with and how hard he works out on the ice, Ken Holland even said that he thought the only game Hossa looked really tight in was game 6. Hossa will be here for a longterm contract around 5mill in my opinion. Kenny will start at Franzen's number and Rich Winter will start at Zetterbergs number, they'll end right in the middle somewhere.

    Interesting Reaction from Detroit

I actually respect your opinion and I don't think it's too far off base, a couple of things though. You should never misspell LIDSTROM. I don't think age had anything to do with it The average age of the Wings is 33 years old the Pens 29 but if you subtract Chelios at 47 the numbers are much closer. I think injuries are what ultimatly sealed the Wings fate. Not that I am using it as an excuse, injuries are part of the game and the Pens worked hard and deserve the win but a healthy Wings teams beats this Pens team in 5 games.

Who is worse to lose to

To overcome so many obsticles but to fall short is a larger disappointment than getting knocked out earlier in the process. Of course I am happy with the Red Wings season and proud of what they accomplished, but hindsight is 20/20 and knowing what I know now I would have rather seen the Wings loose earlier rather than later. I have been a Hockey fan since 1996, I only really started watching the Avalance series that year so the 95 finals didn't mean much to me. Since that point I have been rewarded with watching a great hockey team every year. That being said I've also seen my fair share of disappointment, the Wings have been knocked out in the first, second, and even third rounds. I can tell you that none hurt more than this one. So yes for my own selfish reasons if someone told me no matter what the Red Wings will not win the Stanley Cup but you get to pick which round they loose in I'd take any of the other three everytime. On a side note the only thing I can remember in Hockey that disappointed me more than this was not being able to watch hockey during the lockout.

Get a new goalie- Get a good goal scorer

The emergence of Ericsson and the great play of Lilja this season make me believe that the Brad Stuart signing wasn't prudent one. I am not basing that decision on the poor game 7. He just suddenly seems expendable. I dunno maybe I am wrong to think so.

    Pittsburgh Penguins cap situation

He is under contract for 7.5million for the next four years plus the team would be on the hook for his 4million dollar bonus this season if he's traded before July 1st. Before you start calling out other people for not checking the numbers you might want to take your own advice

Get a new goalie- Get a good goal scorer

Don't trust anyone who joins a site and the same day creates a trade Osgood thread! They're either a troll or a 10 year old.

Who is worse to lose to

I would have rather lost in the second round to anyone than to go to the finals and be beaten by someone. The teams really don't matter to me, being two goals away from a cup hurts.

    Marian Hossa, merged

Hossa will be back for somewhere between a 5-6 million dollar cap hit.

Last Game In A Wings Uniform For Some?

OP Thank you for this thread, the last two days I have been thinking we have to win, we have to win. But thanks to you I am looking at this game a little different. It may sound corny but this is the last time one of the best Wings teams ever assembled will be on the ice together. Don't worry about Saturday, just go out there and enjoy playing guys and I will enjoy watching. One of the things that makes the Red Wings such a great team is that if you want to play here you have to be part of the family. There are no room for egos in this locker room. Thank you to the Ilitch family, Kenny Holland, Steve Yzerman, Mike Babcock, the rest of the Wings staff and all the players. No matter what happens it was a great season and you gave us in Detroit something to believe in. Now go out there and win!

Headaches worse for Red Wings' Andreas Lilja

I hope Lil's is ok at least enough to celebrate with the team and to play in sweden next year.

Not one player out there on either team is coasting and it's foolish to think otherwise. They are all giving it their all. If you think anyone is like "ahhh I'll just skate in circles and dump the puck in, someone else will score" you don't know much about hockey.

Ladies and Gents, a message from Sidney Crosby

That is hilarious except I can't help but be a little superstitious that things like this are bad mojo.

Not so sure I like them either, I was expecting black..I'm sure they will instantly grow on me if we win.

    who's going to the game?

If you want a really nice meal Burbon Steak or Wolfgangs in the MGM are both good.

THAT is exactly why I question your fandom, it would be lucky for you if they were BOTH playing amazing... I get it you need someone to point your frustration, and I agree with you Hossa needs to play better or if he is that injured play less, but you might try the team in black and white if you want an outlet for your anger, the guys in Red and White are all on the same side.

Osgod you are such a hypocrite, when Ozzie isn't at his best you defend him to the hilt and want everyone to "believe" that he'll pull through yet your the first one to turn on a player when he falters. You have blinders on and your hockey knowledge is limited to Osgood. When Matt makes a LetsgoOzzie site you can be a charter member but as far as being Wings fan, I don't know that you deserve that title. Be pissed at a player sure, call them out when they play bad but at the end of the day, we're all rooting for the same team, there is a big difference between Hossa sucked tonight, or Hossa needs to play better and f*** Hossa. You'd cut off your nose if you could spite your face. P.S. In no way is this a knock on Ozzie, he is playing great and is a HOF goalie.

Hossa is obviously injured, that being said, Babcock shouldn't let him play if his injury is that bad. You guys are so ******* fickle. Flip.......Flop.......Flip.......Flop......The bottom line is the Pens out played us. We'll get it back in gm 7
