I agree, Hossa has played really well most nights, there were a couple where he looked really slow but I think like a lot of Wings he has an injury he is playing through. -

Don't take it personal on this board it's what have you done for me lately. That doesn't mean I think we should get rid of Stu (or anyone else for that matter) to keep Hossa. I love Hossa but it's a tough decision and one I am glad I don't have to make. -

I think the reason people were upset about it is not because it wasn't an intereference call but because there was lots of intereference on both sides all night then all of a sudden they decide to call one on Erriccson. Either call ALL the penalties or don't call any of them. But stay consistent.

If Yzerman retired, and if Lidstrom retired...and if Zetterberg didn't exist...and if DAtsyuk was never drafted...and if Draper also retired...Scooby Doo would be the new captain!

Forward would be Pavel Datsyuk...best all around forward in the game. Goalie would be Luongo...in his prime, great goalie etc and Defensmen would be hmmm I don't know that's tough...to me there's a big drop off between Lidstrom and the rest of the league yet it seems foolish to build a team around a 39 year old defenseman...even if he is the best in the league.

Guys I've never played hockey before but I know how to tie my skates and I can hold a stick...oh did I mention I have a degree in acting from NYU and I was also on the school high dive team...hmmm acting and diving...I'm sure we can find something I'd be good at.

My favorite goal song by far is Pavel Datsyuk's russian techo-mix. I don't even listen to that kind of music really but I love hearing that song at the Joe!

The differing opinions on this board clearly shows that it could have gone either way. Even if it was a penalty or a penalty shot it was the right play by Z. Taking a penalty to save a goal is worth it. -
I agree that we need to play strong D to win this series, but that's the beauty for the Red Wings system. There are no one-way players. If you want to be a Red Wing you have to play well with or without the puck.

This post is why I believe the Wings will win this series. The Pens are basically a carbon copy of the Red Wings. And the Wings have been doing it for 14+ years. No won plays the Wings style better than the Wings. The Pens will quickly learn that. One day the student may surpass the teacher but it ain't happening this year.

It seems like a fair request to me, I don't mind giving credit where credit it due, for instance...I can admit that Crosby and Malkin are amazing players. I can admit that Fleury is a promising young goaltender who seems to be in the zone this post season. I can also admit that the Penguins are clearly better than the Wings in at least one area....PLAYOFF SLOGAN. I don't know what you guys have this year but "The Beard is Back" sucks!

I am a bit nervous...honestly this is the first year out of the four recent cup finals that I am not 100% confident Detroit will win. I am only 95% this time. And yes I know the Wings still have to eliminate Chicago...

I think the Pens will be tougher than last year, they will be even more motivated to get their revenge on The Red Wings and the evil Mr. Hossa. That being said we'll still beat them probably in 6 again.

Babcock is currently the highest paid coach in the league and under contract with the best team in the league for another four years after this one. I doubt he would give it all up to move to Montreal. What would be the upside? I guess living in Canada but it's not like that's his home town or anything.

If Ozzie's career had ended in 2001 I think you would have to question his inclusion on anyones list of "elite" all-time goalies. However it didn't he went out and played three respectable seasons, albeit not difference makers, then came home. Since he's been here he has proved that not only is he a game clutch goalie with elite statistics but he is a Red Wing through and through.
