BTW Drummerboy, Welcome to the site and good first thread!

The problem with most "great" players goalies included is you don't know how great they really are until towards the end of their careers. Chicago didn't know what they had in Domink Hasek and so they decided to trade him away and keep Belfour instead. Although Belfour is no slouch I am sure in hindsight they would have been better served with Hasek in net. Another example, 4 years ago everyone was questioning the Sharks for trading Toskala and keeping Nabby. It looks like they got the last laugh as Nabby has been consistantly good and Toskala isn't even a clear cut starter anymore. Finally look at Nashville and the Jackets...both teams have ushered in several young hot goalies only to trade them a year later when their streak ends. Will the same happen again next year? Only time will tell.

To me the biggest factor is consistency. There have been plenty of "hot"goalies that don't stand the test of time.
-
That's actually pretty funny, but I am willing to bet it was edited in their favor. Let's see the raw footage.

I by NO means believe this story but I will say I got pretty drunk with him one night before a scrimmage game during training camp! *when I say with him, I mean at the same bar all night with some casual conversation throughout, he didn't invite me up or anything*

It makes me wonder if Hossa has an injury...I am going to look for him to up the big O against Pittsburgh...IF we end up meeting them.

Which of These Players Will be the Next to Score a Goal?
Booster313 replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
I am going to have to go with Hossa, I want to say Datsyuk because I think he needs it more but my gut says Hossa. -
Nope...it must be a really slow day for topics!

If that's how you would like us to view things then you should leave the site, because your last post was terrible...your useless to us now. Nevermind that you have good hockey sense and usually contribute value to the threads...your only as good as your last post...oh wait. Hmmm

Are you ******* nuts?! Rewatch game seven from the last round, you need only catch the first period again to see a game changing save. Ozzie lets that in and I don't like our chances. Ozzie doesn't have the stellar personal numbers he did last post season but he has given us a chance to win every game so far, by making the big saves and keeping us in it when we haven't been playing well. Ozzie IMHO should have won the Conn Smyth last season and he's making a pretty good case this one too.

The game has changed...goalies can't go into the corners and get the puck anymore...if you watched hockey prior to the lockout...Osgood was a lot more active stick handler. Osgood's only option at this point is to T the puck up behind the net for his D men. If he plays it up the boards he runs the risk of the opposing team getting to the puck and firing it on net before he can get back in position. Oh the rare occasions that the puck isn't coming down fast enough or if there isn't a Wings defensemen in the vacinity and Osgood feels a scoring chance might result if he doesn't play the puck he will leave his crease and bat it into the corner or make a pass to the neutral zone.

I am soooo sick of how spoiled Red Wings fans can be, one minute someone is savior, the next coming of Jesus H Christ and the next minute they are a waste of space on the bench. NO ONE has been immune. Osgood, Hasek, Datyuk, Hossa, Sammy, Cleary, Hudler, even Lidstrom and Yzerman weren't spared this critcism albeit to a lesser extent. All season long we complained about how poor the Red Wings were playing and yet their dismal season had us sitting second in the West. We have a great team, we are proving that night in and night out, Pavel and Hossa want to be scoring more than any of us want them to be scoring. Give them a break and credit where credit is due. These are special players and their not as good as their last game, or even their last playoff series...greatness prevails over time. The track record is there to prove that.

I would argue from that thread, possibly classier than some of our beloved LGWers. That was impressive!- 343 replies

She makes it sound like he was aiming for her, not just throwing it and accidently taking her out in the process. There must have been some sort of an instant "out of court settlement" for her to not press charges! -
Mitch Albom is stupid...

I am not sure about Flip yet...I like him just not sure to what potential he will meet.

You should make a sign that says f*** the Ducks...I mean Duck the f***s....oops you swear either way!

Do u think that might have something to do with the fact that 10+ times as many people have ESPN as VS. Those numbers are skewed! Give them an even playing field.

Done for tonight guys! Go Wings!
