This is such an obvious answer. YES..anyone with half a brain would take Crosby as a Red Wing. No bad blood, years of competition, do right hate for a player is going to sway the decision. If you can have a player like Crosby you take him and if you say otherwise you are lying. The real question should be, if you had to give up a Dats, Z, Hossa, Lidstrom, Franzen...etc to have Crosby on the team would you? Now the answer is a lot less obvious. Welcome to the salary cap. I went with the Sharks because I think that would make for a more exciting series. I loved beating the sharks in 2007. However seeing Detroit Chicago in the WCF would be AWESOME as well.

The first two games of this series when the scrum's broke out made me miss the late 90's when Darren could skate with our third line, contribute offensivly and throw down if necessary.

My inital reaction was to tell everyone in this thread to relax it's just one game and to knock on wood because you don't want to jinx him. He played fantastic, but we have a long road ahead and bragging before the journey ends is potential for a lot of egg on your collective virtual faces...on the other hand people are quick to say he's done after one bad game so we might as well say he's never gonna let in another goal after a great one!

No actually I'm not...you will from time to time see me making sarcastic comments or using profanity in my posts, I just don't find it appropiate to make fun of someone based on a handicap, race, religion, etc... Prove your point with facts. It will usually hold a lot more water that way.

Clearly you are upset about the opinion that one of your favorite players is expendable, however that does not give you the right to make fun of someone who is handicaped or a perticular type of handicap. Please choose your words more wisely from now on.

I think we all like ALL the Red Wings. What your seeing are the fans playing armchair GM and trying to decide who should stay and who should go...I think everyone would agree that Hossa is in the top 3 or 4 players on the Wings...So if that's the case and you want to keep him you have to be willing to move some of your other players. Of course Stuart and Cleary are better than some other players on the roster...but you need to look for someone that A is tradeable (they have to have value) and B someone who has a high enough salary to make an impact. Unfortunatley that's a short list. Flip, Cleary, Stuart, Kronwall, Rafalski, and Homer. (I left off Lidstrom, Datsyuk, and Zetterberg because they're what I would consider untouchable, Franzen just signed so he isn't going anywhere. I also left off upcoming FA...eveyone else on the roster doesn't have a high enough salary to make an impact.) Out of the six you have to decide who makes the most sense to move. For what it's worth I actually think it will be Flip that gets traded. That's all nothing personal, it's just the economics of the game. In a non-cap world I think the Wings would retain everyone.

Now we're congratulating people for just showing up to work??? Not a knock against Hudler...I like him. But come on.
