I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said, I am speechless.

The problem with Crosby is that since before his first day in the league he has been marketed as Gretzky part 2, something unfortunately he will never live up to. He is an amazing player, but he certainly can't be fairly compared to Wayne Gretzky...but then no one really can...and I don't even like the guy. Crosby has been billed by the media, the fans, the league, and the numerous companies who use him for endorsements as "the next great one" and unfortunately he'll never been that, he's not even the best player of his time. I would give best all around right now to Datsyuk...I would have given it to Ovechkin or even Crosby until today, but after finding out that Malkin, Crosby, and Ovie lead the league in ice time for forwards and that Datsyuk is 49th it really sheds some light on what kind of special player he is. Add that along with the fact that he is by far the best defensively of the group and he gets my vote.

I trust that holland will find a way to make the puzzle fit AND make sense for the Wings. I just hope that Hossa is included in those plans, if however he is not a Wing for life...well I will wish him well.

To piggy back on this is you are solely looking at points Kyle Quincey is like the 10th best defensemen in the league....and we all know that's not true.

My first question would have been....How are the Hossa negotiations going, my second would have been when are you going to sign Hossa and my third would have been...what about Franzen. That's BS last year most of this site was all about Ozzie and thought Dom was the second coming of the black plague. This year it's Ozzie's turn and Conklin gets to be the knight in shining armor. Let's face it Detroit fans like to blame their goaltender first...and they always think the grass is always greener on the other side. Ozzie has played a couple of really nice games...I for one think he will be fine.

Hossa was on Holland's radar all last season. The Red Wings had extensive talking leading up to last years trade deadline but in the end weren't willing to give up what ATL was asking. The night the Wings won the cup both Babcock and Kopecky said something to Hossa about coming to the Wings in the hand shake line, and finally Holland made a multi-year offer for Hossa on July 1st. Holland persued Hossa, he just thought it was a lost cause, that is until Hossa decided he wanted it to happen just as bad and offered the one year deal.

We are getting close to the deadline and Holland said he would like to have one or the other locked up...in addition it seemed like he was close with both. Why have we not heard anything recently?
