It's not the end of the world right now...As Osgod pointed out, we are still winning games. Maybe Ozzie is just slumping...or maybe he has lost a step. In any case it's not time time to push the panic button. WE WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. We have until the trade deadline for Ozzie and Conks AND the team to work out this goals against issue.

Yes Loo, Hossa is just as cool as you could imagine...most Hockey players I've met have been though. I have met players before but never had the opportunity to sit and actually have a real conversation with them. And thank you for the compliment Loo. I think I look short in the photo...I must have been slouching. I'm like 5'11 and I look like I am almost the same height as Hudler!

It must be a great week for Red Wings fans. After reading about Munkees chance encounter I never dreamed that I would have my own opportunity to rub elbows with greatness so soon. Last night my girlfriend and I went down to the MGM to have dinner at Bourbon Steak before the game. We headed over to the Joe and enjoyed a nice comeback victory. After the game we decided to head back to Bourbon for a couple more drinks. We were sitting at the bar enjoying our drinks when around 11pm, in walk Hossa, Kopecky, and Hudler! I was in awe. We offered to scoot down so they could sit at the bar together and enjoyed chatting with the trio for about 30-40minutes! When we were posing for the picture Hudler had at first given the “thumbs up”. I told him that he looked exactly like that at the cup rally, and asked if he had, had a couple of drinks that day. Kopecky started laughing and slapped him on the back. I complimented Marian on his game tieing goal and thanked him for making the decision to come play here this year. I told him that I am hoping he is able to work something out and stay here next season but never the less I am enjoying watching him play this one. He said “Thank you…and we’ll see” on next year. I also asked him if there was any truth to the rumor that he and Gaborik were planning on packaging themselves together next season. He laughed and said “Absolutely not, I haven’t heard that one yet.” All three of them were really gracious, it truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I think you made the whole thing up....

If Kenny can keep Z, Fanzen, and Hossa...Hudler would be an acceptable casualty.

If you look at my first post I am not doing that either. I am taking a wait and see attitude. Which is what I suggest everyone do. Most of the posts seem to be very negative to me. Let's see where the chips fall come June.

I love how everyone says it will never happen...Is it likely? NO. But you people are probably the same fans saying it would never happen the first time. If Hossa's presence here has taught you anything well then it should have taught you to never say never.

I would really like to see him stay. That being said I won't fault him if he decides to go.

He may not be our number one goalie but he is no longer our clear cut backup either. I expect a rather even rotation until something changes. Ozzie isn't playing as well as he should be. The good news is there is still plenty of time for him to get things turned around. Two great goalies is ALWAYS better than one.

You need to adjust your salaries. Contracts under the new CBA cannot be Front end loaded. For Cap purposes the salary is averaged over the total years so there for Flip would be at 3mill as would Brad Stuart and Kronwall. Also I think Franzen's contract is a little high. I expect him so sign somewhere between 3-4 million.

I will always miss Hasek. For his style of play for the way he would compete, for how much fun he was to watch. Do I think he could still Dominate this year? I can't honestly answer that question. I don't think we'd be any worse of a position than we are now if we still had the Dom and Ozzie Tandem. There's always next year! LOL

I think that it was no worse than 90% of Downey's fights last year. It was a crappy fight, if you had to pick a winner it would be May for sure. I am not willing to write D-mac off yet, espically when I saw the alternative fight last year.

It will be nice to see him play another year!

I'm not worried....yet. If we are still talking about less than stellar goaltending and questionable defense in March then I'll be worried.

Dom was won of the top 5 goalies to ever play the game, but when it came to creativity and excitement he was and always will be number one. And no I don't think Osgood should flop during shoot-outs it's not his style but he could be more agressive. Edit: I like Ozzie a lot and I think he will be fine this year.

I would like to see Hudler traded and Lenio in his place. I used to say Sammy and I wouldn't be sad if it happened that way instead but if you compare the three, Hudler and Lenio have closer styles than Sammy does. So to me it makes more sense to upgrade Hudler. Of course then you run the risk that Lenio never really developes but somehow I doubt that.

Not to mention that had we signed Brunnstrom to that 2.25million dollar contract he wanted including all the bonuses we wouldn't have been able to afford Mr. Marian Hossa!

Depends...if this forward is going to crack the top three lines on a regular basis....Then Lenio. If we are talking someone to sit in the press box and play the occasional game here and there then I say McCarty...or Downey really but I'd give the edge to Mac. Helm's year is probably next year. Not because of skill but because of the type of player he is and our needs.

I believe that Ovechkin has a slight edge on Crosby. As for Zetterberg being the best in the NHL he's right there with them. So is Datsyuk.
