And...here....we....go!
-
I know there are no guarantees but I don't want to over pay Flip because, Flip < Hossa. If I am forced to make a choice as to who I want to be a Wing for life...well there is no choice.
-
I have just one thing to say to everyone in this thread... WHY SO SERIOUS???
-
Hossa AND Crosby deserve all the praise they are getting. Sure we may not like Crosby but make no mistake he's an elite player in this league. The fact that you said Crosby doesn't deserve the praise he's getting takes credibility from your statement about Hossa. Is Hossa as good as Crosby or Vinney? No of course not but your on a Detroit message board so we're going to praise our home-town addition.

Stub Hub is a peer to peer ticket sharing service. Therefore anyone can sign up and set the price at whatever they like. The tickets there now aren't yet available. People are selling them based on anticipation that they will be getting them. Keep in mind that many of them are probably season ticket holders who've already been guaranteed a certain number of seats.
-
Why hasn't anyone reported this signing??? Are we sure this is offical.
-
I don't expect a Rocket or a Ross trophy from Z, D, or Hossa. But I do expect all three to hit 100+ points.
-
Most of those are down right terrible! There are a couple that are interesting but I stress that I never and I mean NEVER want to see them on a Wings sweater during a game.
-
For the record. 1. Lidstrom 2. Yzerman 3. Fedorov 4. Shanahan 5. Larionov 6. Datsyuk 7.Zetterberg 8.Osgood 9. Hasek 10. Draper

It's an interesting concept...I won't say that their wasn't racisim involved because I wasn't there. The real question is was he offered contracts, just nothing as lucrative as what he could earn in Russia and decided to chase the money?? The arguement that Laraque, Iglina, etc have healthy careers tends to make me think the league is not racisit. However it seems that some feel if a black person doesn't act "ghetto" and still get accepted then it must mean that the general population is racist. I disagree. I don't associate "ghetto" with black people. I associate that behavior with ignorant people period. The fact that we have a black man very possibly as the next president speaks the volumes about how far out country has come. We're never going to elect "Too Short" but we also wouldn't put a member of ICP in office either. It's not about race it's about behavior.

Agreed...to a point. What made Sergei was his elite skating ability. He was a strong player (hard to move off the puck and won face-offs due to that asset.) and he could skate as well as anyone in the league if not better. We had a pretty strong shot but wasn't all that accurate and he wasn't a great stick handler either. He created chances by overpowering and out skating opponents. All that being said he is still in the top three of Wings over the last 15...Z and D may eventually surpass those rankings but for now Sergei (and his debt) are safe.
-
I too will wait to hear a second half of this story. For all we know Sergei invested his life savings in the stock market...we all know how that's turning out for most people these days. Maybe he is attempting to sell the condo to pay back the loan but because of Florida's soft housing market he's unable to do so. Or maybe he's just an irresponsible *******. There are a lot of good people in this country defaulting on loans. We are in a very difficult time. We think that because he makes so much money it's not possible that he can be broke, but everything is relative. For us 10k, 20k, 50k, 250k, etc is considered a lot of debt. Maybe Sergei has debt in the millions and has fallen victim to the same types of issues effecting the rest of us, just on a much larger scale.

It depends on what price point seats you purchase. I can tell you based on last yea Price ranges per pair- High upper bowl-$2024 Mid to lower upper bowl-$4048 Lower upper bowl-$4968 First row of upper bowl to mid lower bowl-$6992 Lower lower bowl-$7820 I believe that they are giving season ticket holders a small discount so the prices should be slightly lower than those I provided, also keep in mind this is for the pre and regular season only. You will have the option to keep your same seats for the playoffs at an additional cost often times the playoffs can run almost as much as the regular season, if the Red Wings keep with tradition you'll have to buy all four rounds, you won't be able to pick and choose what playoff games you want to go to. Hope this helps.

Hossa Which goalie would you rather have as a career Red Wing. Hasek or Roy?
-
Very solid DVD. I got goose bumps a couple times. Kind of made me sad to see Dom's meltdown again. It just brought home the fact that we'll never get another opportunity to see one of the games greatest and most entertaining goalies play again.
-
I think it's a foregone conclusion that Sammy will be gone after his contract is up and he certainly has his downsides, but that being said he's a properly valued player in a cap world. Of course we'd all like every player on the team to be a Datsyuk or a Zetterberg but that's just not possible. As for Hudler he's fine as long as we don't expect super-stardom. I firmly believe that many on the boards hate him because some of us have unreal expectations of his potential. He is not a top six forward. He has the skill but not the size or the speed.
-
I think Joey could be the new video coach. He had that job under Bowman and Louie. I wouldn't mind seeing Stevie behind the bench either but I think he would prefer to keep his distance from the current crop of players as he's played with a great deal of them.
-
No the cap is based on league revenue.
-
True I was meerly pointing out that just because they look similar doesn't mean that Ozzie's and Dom's helmets provided anywhere near the same level of protection.
-
Osgood wears an old cooper style helmet. (plastic) Hasek's mask was made of Kevlar with a titanium cage by a company out of Michigan called Warwick. It provides all the same protection as the more mainstream modern style masks. You can google the Warwick masks site. Dom's mask runs over a grand!

Shanahan has his off season home in the same neighborhood as Afleck and Kevin Smith in New Jersey. He may also own homes in Manhattan and Detroit for all I know. And one season does not make a career. He certainly didn't leave on bad terms. Maybe some were hurt by his decision, but no one likes to be rejected...
-
Your right Shanahan did leave Detroit on a SOAR note, as in on a high, as a hero, on good terms. He didn't however leave the team on a SOUR note. If I'm not mistaken he said that he and Stevie sat down together and had a long conversation about it. His other reason for leaving was being closer to home. Shanahan lives in NJ.

I had no idea that Hossa could box like that. That s*** is crazy! I will be buying a Hossa jersey now.

Ask me again at the trade deadline.
