This is really good news...25 games puts him all the way to 3/26. That seems like a sign to me! Lets hope after about 13 games he has a contract in place so we can call him up!

Let's look at this with some logic, there are really only a handful of players in the league you could consider on the same level as Z or possibly upgrades those players are: Crosby Ovechkin Heatly Kovalchuk Lecavalier and if you want to include goalies: Luongo Brodeur (age would be a factor) Kiprusoff Nabokov (He's good, but being one of the greatest remains to be seen.) I don't see any of those players moving anytime soon, nor do I see an advantage for either team really...so the answer is no.

From what I read Forsberg only wants about 2.4 million per season. That's very reasonable. Add Sergi and you've got a deal!

The Latest on Mac: Darren is scheduled to play his last home game on tomorrow at Perani arena in Flint. The start time is 4pm so if you've been waiting for your chance to see him play this may be it. Active Military tickets are free, in addition for this game only if you purchase an adult ticket you get a childs ticket at no charge. What does this mean for Mac??? It could be as simple as he's played out his contract and it may be extended or we could be looking for Mac to join the Griffins soon as he continues his comeback to the NHL. Kronwall has a long way to go before I would consider him an elite defensmen, but he has the time to get there. Sundin is 37 and although he is amazing, I don't want to trade away our future for someone we would only see here for a month. Now Kronwall for Hossa I'd consider, with the stipulation that an extension was part of the deal and we still have cap space to retain Z.

I hate to say it but my fear is that Z will turn out to be just like Forsberg...One of the greatest hockey players of our generation and possibly all time...but with nagging injuries.

That's a really good point, however I think the Wings are going to make a move before the trade deadline. Forsberg would be a freebee, but Hossa or Sundin would cost us something of value and I don't know if Sammy or Lilja would cut it.
