I thought that maybe it's because he plays next to lids that his mistakes are glaring but he doesn't seem that strong on the puck and I've noticed a few bad turnovers. I'm not saying he sucks and this is really the first year I've watched him play( I didn't follow him in Jersey) but when he came here last summer people said that he was like Schneider except a little worse defensively and to me it seems he's a little worse than Schneider in that aspect.

Actually I thought the view from behind the net was great! And I was admiring those seats...I noticed a guy in a older allstar jersey sitting there, was that you? Anyway it's true you give up the ability to see the overall development of the game but you get a new appreciation for the speed of the skaters, the passing, the shots and the goaltender. I've basically sat all over the arena and the neat thing is you notice different things from different areas. GMR, Our ticket prices are not out of line with the rest of the NHL or pro-sports in general for that matter. Even the Blue Jackets and the Preds charge between 20 and 85 a seat. I was at a Generals game recently and the consessions were only marginally better than the Joe. It's expensive to go see any live sporting event and to expect drastic price cuts is unrealistic. I think the Wings management is doing a great job this year of trying to increase ticket sales in a tough economy. Now playoff tickets, well that's a different story. I expect we will see a much more reasonable increase in ticket prices if we even see one at all.

I don't think so, just because of the amount of people that would wait for them to sign autographs. They park in the players lot next the the main Gordie Howe entrance. You could try hanging out down there but it's a long shot because they get in their cars and drive out.

Make a trip to Traverse City in September, if you spend 3 or 4 days there you'll have the opportunity to get pretty much the entire team.

I was at the game yesterday, Mac wasn't the fastest player on the ice but he was faster than most, I think the thing that impressed me most was he was strong in his skating. He frequently had one or two defenders on him. He would be no slower than Chelios, Drake, or Lilly. He did Hustle on that last play, maybe he wasn't skating fast for most of the game because he didn't have to??? Just a thought.

LOL we were also right behind the net, I was in section 2 row D. I was wearing a McCarty Jersey and my friend and I were chanting, Pool....Pool....Pool YOU SUCK! I did see the pictures, they were very nice, although I thought they were a bit pricy considering I was able to walk downstairs and wait 20min for Mac to come out and sign an 8x10 and my Jersey for free, not to mention take a picture, What a great guy!

I say sign him. Scenario 1: We sign him, he comes back, plays hard, stays healthy, adds a new level to an already lethal scoring threat and proves all the nay-sayers wrong. Scenario 2: We sign him, he comes back, is lazy, gets injured, sits out the rest of the season and gives ALL Wings fans yet another reason to hate him. I say it's a WIN-WIN situation!!!

Munkee, Great Post and thanks for moving mine from the other thread. I think your analysis is spot on. The photo's will have to wait until tomorrow as I forgot to grab the memory card. Check back tomorrow evening. JackMallory, You have a great team and a great building there in Flint. Really entertaining product, the second period was kind of boring but the first, third, and espically OT were amazing. I was guilty of giving Pool plenty of sh*t this evening, but I must admit he was excellent today. 47 saves and many were second or third chances. He didn't give up on the play once and was acrobatic. His only "classless" move was during overtime, twice he kicked the net from it's moorings because he thought he was going to get scored on.

I just got back home from the Flint Generals game tonight and after seeing Darren play, I have to honestly say he has a shot at making the Wings, although it's a long one. He was physical and he had another goal and an assist tonight. He seems to play almost a Holmstrom like role with the Generals. He parks himself in front of the net, screens the goalie, moves the D out of the way and tries to shovel in rebounds. His skating is still pretty weak but that was never his strong point. All I can say is I wish him the best.
