So get off your ass and negotiate... No one said he had to sign a 4-6 millions dollar contract. I am pretty sure an open letter to 30 teams means your willing to work within a budget for a job.
-
Number 20 has nothing to do with it but way to look for signs. I appreciate the positive outlook.

Any confirmations on San Jose's claim?
-
No offense but Ozzie has been given an opportunity this year and played pretty decent and if he wasn't injured he'd probably still be playing. As far as Nabby bs Ozzie... Nabby has been the better goalie for most of the last 10 years accept one season,
-
We all knew this could happen, but the Sharks or Chicago would sting a bit more. Send him to the east or to someone that won't make the playoffs.
-
I think what really matters is the short term. It will be (if it happens) a Howard Nabakov tandem... When Ozzie comes back if one or both haven't stepped up he will get his shot as the backup.. Which is all he was really going to be this year anyway. After the season cup or not chances are Ozzie is our backup. Neither Nabby nor Howard will sign for league minimum. So we keep one of them and Ozzie. The Wings would time up 3-5million on two starting goalies.
-
Philly and Vancouver do get a chance... EVERY team gets a chance to claim him. OT doesn't matter the Red Wings place in the standings, remove them rank the other 29 teams opposite the standings and that's the waiver order.
-
I feel like I need a PhD to understand this s***... I am just going to wait and see...
-
I will be excited on Saturday...

Ken Daniels said that the deal is outstanding and could be done tonight!
-
He wouldn't have to in the summer. Waivers aren't in effect from 7/1- 9/30 every year.
-
When did you start watching hockey?! The Red Wings started the Russian craze in the NHL with the russian five! Recently it has more to do with the KHL and the transfer agreement with the IIHF than anything else. Larsson wasn't even a great AHL goaltender... Plus he has a bad attitude. See Ya!

I talked to Gary Bettman today on NHL hour SiriusXM radio. You cannot trade for him without him going through waivers again.

Hasek- 4 or 5 times McCarty- twice Osgood- twice Draper- twice Maltby- once Lidstrom- once Chelios- twice Yzerman- once Babcock- twice Holland- twice Hudler- twice Hossa- twice Franzen- once Holmstrom- three times Kronwall- once Lilja- once Selane- once Tkachuk- once Shanahan- twice Bowman- twice Brett Hull- once Bobby Hull- once Vladdy- once Zetterberg- twice Datsyuk- twice Kopecky- once Howard- twice Lang- once Flip- twice Lebda- twice Williams- once Rafalski- twice Helm- once Schneider- twice Mowers- once Devereaux- once Cleary- once Fischer- once I think that's it... and I have to say they were all really nice. Some more so than others but in general they were all willing to accomodate me. The meetings range from a brief as a minute to as long as 30-45 minutes.

Picture isn't showing

Bertuzzi has been really solid this year, and you should factor money in to the equation, for instance I didn't have a problem with Robert Lang, he was an okay forward, I had a problem with Robert Lang making 4million. Bertuzzi at 1.5ish is fair, does he make mistakes, yes but you can't have a team of all Zetterbergs, Datsyuk's and Lidstroms. You have to grade on a curve.
-
So he CAN be traded right after. I wouldn't see why you can't do that.
-
I think if this deal goes down Holland has a trade in place with whatever lower ranked team might claim him.
-
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right...
-
I don't like the numbers above the crest.

I agree that some of Howard's lapses could be attributed to rookie mental mistakes, but I think they are few and far between. Howard has shown plenty of poise, I think you are fishing for a problem that simply doesn't exist. Even the greatest goalies had bad games or bad stretches we measure success in seasons not in games. Howard has had 1.5 seasons to evaluate him on and so far is deserving of a B+. Let's see how he finishes this year before we start worrying about if rushing him took a toll on his development or not.

Name Me a Better 2-Way Player Today than Henrik Zetterberg…
Booster313 replied to zetterbergfan's topic in General
Datsyuk is a slightly better two way player than Zetterberg, he does it all season long and makes it look really easy, however Zetterberg really turns on his game post season. That being said if you want me to throw in another name that hasn't been mentioned, Hossa is a damned good two-way player himself. -
Howard, Stuart, Eaves possible Tuesday against the Oil
Booster313 replied to nate94gt's topic in General
Wow people crack me up... Babcock haters, it's really easy to look back and say he shoulda, woulda, coulda. Hindsight is 20/20. The way you people talk it's like we don't have the most successful sports team over the last 15 years, let alone hockey team. You make it sound like had Babcock only listened to you we'd have 3 more cups. Get over yourselves. When are you going to sit back and realize that although not without mistake, these guys know what they are doing and they are right far more often than they are wrong. It you could do it better you'd be coaching. It's one thing to disagree but your personally attacking Babcock. -

Stu is fine, he did have stitches and staples, but the injury itself was minor. -

It wouldn't be LGW if we couldn't ***** about the goalie situation. Relax... It will all get worked out. Osgood is played really welll, Howard is playing average. I think the bigger issue has been our lack of a 60min game more than either of our goalies. Osgood will get his starts.
