There were only 2 goals scored against Dom, one was a deflection off his own players stick, the last one was Selanne walking in all alone after a turnover. Hardly soft goals. GM 6 I'll give you. But game 5 Dom was impressive. As for Howard, his time will come. I have every confidence that we will have our franchise for years to come, but Jimmy, the GR staff, and Kenny Holland say he's not ready yet. If they say that then who are we to argue. Be patient young grasshopper...good things come to those who wait.

Dixie, From what I've heard they will look identical just be cut different, more streamlined. My source is the staff at Fanatic U, a sports store in the metro detroit area. The fact is no matter who's in net, if we don't win a cup next year people will be calling for his head. The job is Dom's to take or give up, he stayed healthy, played solid, gave us a chance to win almost everynight and stole a few games. There is not a better goalie available. This team, this Detroit Red Wings club, will win the cup this year. We are only six wins away. After tonight we proved we have the one piece missing from our last 3 attempts, we have the desire. Dats and Z are having outstanding post seasons, Homer taking that hit and then coming out to finish the game, our role players stepping up, our PK guys on fire and the best goaltender in the league!!! Dom was a strong reason we were able to beat the Sharks when no one said we could. To win this series he has to play at an even higher level. Tonight he proved he is up to the challenge. Bad play on Dom's part for sure, and yeah he gets burned sometimes when he goes out of the net, but how many more times has it worked for him? I would say the odds are in his favor considering he's won 6 Vezina trophies, 1 Olympic Gold medal and a Stanley Cup. Dom is what you call an "active goalie". He wanders, he keeps the play moving, he flops...but he's 42 years old and guess what, it works for him. So let's all stick to doing what we do best and cheer on the Wings and let Dom do what he does best, which is stop the puck. Besides the fact that he makes you nevrous sometimes makes it that much more exciting when he makes the save. That's what many Hasek fans will tell you they love so much about his style of play, myself included. As far as Lids, what can you say about that amazing piece of defense, he's the best in the league for a reason!! He bailed Dom out on a bad turnover, but that's what teammates do for each other!

So after last nights disheartening loss it's easy to become negative. However after having some time to reflect I thought I would share my reasons why this series is far from over, and why I believe. 1. We have home Ice. - I have to believe that we will play better in our building and this could make a difference. 2. Dom accepted responsibility. - He made a stupid error in judgement in the first, but he didn't blame his team, shook it off and played solid. What's more he shouldered the responsibility with the media. 3. The whole series we've seen scoring spread around to several different lines, just think if they all get rolling on the same night! 4. Calgary brought their A game the past two nights, the Wings did not, yet we were still within reach the whole night. When we had our A games 1 & 2 the play was much more lop-sided. The Wings are the better team, we just have to play like it. 5. And last but not least...at the Joe we have Bernie!!! Ok just thought I would share why I have every confidence again the Wings will win this series. Can't wait to lace up the skates for Saturday!!!

Thanks to all the positive energy from those of you that shared your thoughts...Those of you that feel as if we're doomed or the Calgary will win, turn off your TV's, throw away your Jersey, find another excuse to go to the bar with your friends and have a beer.
