That was awesome!

A solution would be one vote per email address

He should have won it last year getting us to the 4th seed with the depleted roster we had last year.

As per usual the news likes to make things sound grim... dun dun DUNNNNN. Give Mikey Mo a chance to heal and see if he can get back, we'll worry about the trade deadline... at the trade deadline. I know that this is a message board, and we discuss things, it must be boring to just talk about how awesome the Wings have been doing.

There is truly no limit to how low people can get...

Wings-Sharks game might be postponed tonight

I think it's not about Hossa vs Hudler and Flip... but Hossa vs Franzen. The Red Wings have said that they didn't want to and cannot afford to take on more LT contracts like Zetterberg and Franzen, that's their limit, it works great now but in 5-7 years it will be a lot of top heavy weight for two players at the twilight of their careers.
-
Do you think we could move Hudler and Kindle or Big E and pick up Kaberle? I know it wouldn't quite work out dollar wise but it would make out defense killer and if Lidstrom decides to retire we have an inside track on a fix or sorts.

I was completely lost till I read the OP's date.

99% of those seats are already sold thru this season...
-
No start for J-Mac Osgood to start practicing tomorrow.
-
No I think he's saying you're a dinosaur. You know you're old when you start a sentence with "back in my day" or "things were different" LOL. Total joke for the record

Should we risk our future for an elite defenseman?
Booster313 replied to dropkickshanahans's topic in General
I think that's way too much...as far as is it enough... probably. But you are talking giving up 5 draft picks, a top four defenseman, a top six forward and a potential top four defenseman. Smith is probably our best young defenseman in the system (at least potential wise). I like the idea of resigning Lidstrom next year and for one final year, and worrying about a a UFA or RFA in 2012 there is a nice crop available that year including Mike Green and Brent Burns we'd also have Stuart and Rafalski coming off the books that year, even if we resign both of them it won't be at the same combined price they are earning now. -

I agree with the sentiment of most of the posters, if a elite defenseman were available such as Doughty from LA, the cost to aquire him via trade would be too high in my opinion. If it were an offer sheet or FA situation then I would say do whatever it takes. I didn't really think of the cap space situation one would assume you can use the 6.2 of lids contract plus the 1.3 of Draper to go sign someone but Jimmy Howard is due for a raise after this season, more than likely somewhere around 3-4 million long term. And we will have Abdelkader and Helm to resign, we'll have to think about replacements for aging players like Modano, Holmstrom and Bertuzzi who's contracts are more than likely undervalued for the skill they provide. I don't think it's as simple as 7million on the next Lidstrom -
It's okay, no one misses your contributions...

Hey did you and a buddy just come to Detroit to see a game recently?
-
Anyone know what Jimmy meant with Roy? Was he almost a Red Wing.
-
He gets mad props for that detection, the force must be strong with him. What the hell is this picture all about and what is its relevance to the thread? I think this picture is terrible.

Your post was just plain rude... To suggest a spell checker is one thing to make fun of someones educational background is another entirely. Heaven forbid someone inconveniences you with their grammar and spelling. I am pretty sure no where in the forum rules does it say that only those with solid writing skills are allowed to post.

Who? Certainly not anyone as high profile as the OP's list.

I like Hudler and I would like to see him get going but the problem is I like the rest of the team as is, even the third line seems to be thriving and Hudler just isn't a 4th line grinder/checker. It's a good problem to have but we have too many players for the lineup. That being said it really makes no sense to trade Hudler except for draft picks because you'll get back another press box pony. I would wait this whole thing out, there are bound to be injuries and the depth will be nice to have at that point, until then rotate players as Babs is doing and maybe bump Abby to the 4th line where he will feel more comfortable to see if Hudler can click with the third if Miller, Eaves, or Helm are out.
-
Perhaps you should take some of your own advice, there is still plenty of tax-free cash in the KHL, Hudlers team folded, not the entire league.
