What do you think needs to be done to fix the PP/PK

Better than the ones the aliens make!

James Wiznewski could have never received an official offer from the Wings because his rights were traded and he was signed prior to 7/1. His comments were just him being him in my opinion. He's an agitator.
-
Actually Ozzie worked with a goalie coach in Novi all through the lockout. He credited him and Jim Bedard in an article. The goalie coach was a client of mine, I don't recall his name at the moment.
-
If you take post lock-out Ozzie back in time, then yes we would have won with him in 2002. Remember Ozzie didn't refine his style until the lockout year, that's what pushed him over the edge and made him come back better than ever.
-
Ozzie you can make a case for, same for Fedorov and Shanahan but McCarty just isn't the caliber player we retire, if you're going to do him then you'd have to look at the entire grindline.
-
Although I am not saying I think he's going to win it, the previous two years mean nothing in this years consideration. That was a silly question.

Here is my roster, obviously we'd have to send something, (possibly Emmerton or Mursak) which may open up a injury spot for Drapes, also if Jagr decides to sign, dump Hudler. I figure if we have the cap space we might as well keep Huds and try to get him going right away unless a better player is available. CAPGEEK.COM CAP CALCULATOR FORWARDS Jiri Hudler ($2.875m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) / Johan Franzen ($3.954m) Daniel Cleary ($2.800m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Alexander Frolov ($3.500m) Todd Bertuzzi ($1.937m) / Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Patrick Eaves ($1.750m) Tomas Holmstrom ($1.875m) / Justin Abdelkader ($0.787m) / Darren Helm ($0.912m) Cory Emmerton ($0.533m) / Jan Mursak ($0.550m) DEFENSEMEN Nicklas Lidstrom ($6.200m) / James Wisniewski ($4.000m) Niklas Kronwall ($3.000m) / Ed Jovanovski ($3.900m) Brad Stuart ($3.750m) / Jonathan Ericsson ($2.400m) / Jakub Kindl ($0.883m) GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($2.250m) / Evgeni Nabokov ($0.570m) CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,212,044; BONUSES: $0 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $87,956

I actually posted something about him coming here in early June right after the finals, search my posts. I had inside info.

Sergei Fedorov chose 91 for his first year in the NHL as well.

The Best thing? Yeah those 62pts or 16 goals the fact that he night in and night out is rarely out of position, none of that helped. and twilight... well don't tell Nick that because judging by the way he played this year, he doesn't know it yet.
-
Lidstrom won't sign anything longer than a one year deal, however in regards to your want to ad a forward, even if the Wings bring back Lidstrom at 6.2 million next year with the projected cap increase they should have plenty of money to go sign another really good D-man or Forward, or they could split it up and ad an okay version of each.
-
The Red Wings will have the roster and the cap space to bring in a decent D man and a decent Winger, depending on who we invite back. As previously stated we have some tough roster decisions with younger players. I don't see the Wings getting Bryz unless he wanted to play for less than 2.0 million. I could however see Tampa making a play for him.

It would have to be a trade, depends what the Islanders want.

Prior to 1977 only players who had completed the Stanley Cup playoffs were eligible. Today, players appearing in 41 regular-season games or one Stanley Cup Final game for the championship team have their names engraved on the Cup. The NHL makes exceptions for players who do not meet the standard because of injury or other extenuating circumstances. He would be an exception...he missed the regular season GP by one game.

Yeah to be honest I am hoping to donate around 100.00 total for all four rounds we are going to win this year. So if Jimmy can post between a 2.00 and 2.50 per series I'll be happy, and sprinkle in some shutouts!

This is in no way a knock on Modano but more heart than Helm?! Have you watched the playoffs, Helm leads the Wings in hits, he has been one of our best players night in and out, just not on the score sheet. In the only game they played together if we are measuring heart it's Helm > Modano. But Modano is a great player, and he does skate fast, I think it's all the back checking that gets him. I would guess that roster changes would come due to either injury or a loss or two, depending on how we lost. This is pretty much the norm. If we make it deep into the playoffs I expect Mike will get another chance, it will be up to him to make sure Babcock simply can't take him out again.

LOL no problem, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing it somewhere.

I posted in the thread my first round total. Where is the chart?
-
Okay so first round is done, and Jimmy posted a 2.50GAA with no shutouts, that puts my tab at... Rnd 1 25.00

If Mule is bad then sit him, we need healthy players for a long cup run.
