The situation being: Boston (despite having horrible attendence the last few years) being an original six team, and Nashville being an expansion team that is undergoing serious changes and possible relocation.
-
I wouldn't mess with an original six... especially being from Nashville. No offense really. But just think about the situation.
-
If anyone gets it let me know.

Have you completely forgotten what we did in the playoffs last year? People get so pissed at Holland and I feel like they disregard the Redwings success... I feel like the man knows what he's doing. Maybe I'm wrong though....
-
Well said!!!
-
I think he offered the solid defensive stuff that sometimes goes unnoticed. I always keep running that image through my head though, when he pummled that guy and Dats went on to score... amazing.
-
Based on the fact that we parted ways with Bert, Lang, and Calder, and that we don't have Williams anymore... What do you guys predict our second line looks like next year? Consider FA's as well. This is assuming that our first line is composed of Zets, Dats, and Holmstrom. Do you guys think we are going to become a one line team? That is my biggest worry coming into this next year.
-
I actually like those for our top two lines.
-
Not once did I suggest they were. I said parted ways specifically for that reason. This does nothing to answer the question.
-
Did he play last year? Blues maybe?
-
I don't think they should trade Kronwall at all. Yes he has had a run of bad luck, but I see amazing potential in this kid, and think he is the future of this team. Offensive upside, open ice hits, continuing to improve defensively. I look at what he did in the Olympics and KNOW he can do that for this team. I am excited to see what the future holds for him! Just stay healthy Kronner!
-
Thank you so much for saying this.
-
I can see players leaving, and aside from youth or Bert, no one coming in.... IMO. Our hopes for this team next year rely on Bertz health, Hasek's decision, and the play of our younger players.
-
So refuse to acknowledge him at all..... seems pretty simple just to ignore him. Dude, a free agent is a free agent, regardless of what team he used to play for... even if that team was ours. Well said. Glad I'm not alone here.
-
Both of you just let it go.... sheesh. This silly little fight is getting in the way of hockey talk. All of us will probably never meet, so who cares what the two of you think of eachother personally. Talk hockey.
-
Okay if that is the argument you are going to use, then I am willing to listen, but please don't revert to the 'living in the past.' Some people are, we all know this, but for the sake of all of our sanity, let that part go. I'm interested in your opinion otherwise... See my previous post.
-
If you just told him to go associate with someone else, stop fueling him on. I think both of you are being silly at this point. Stop attacking eachother, and please get back to the point. I just want to talk Kozlov.... not throw insults.
-
The thing of it is this: whether a free agent once played for us, or they didn't they are a free agent. Disregard Feds here, because I am not talking about him. Koz was once a redwing, we need to get over that. He is a free agent and a quality player. It is one thing to say that wings fans need to stop living in the past, and yes this may be true, but to suggest that wanting Koz back is a bad idea because of it.... this argument doesn't work. Kozzy isn't that old, he isn't washed up. He is just as old and washed up as Cheli and Hasek, and while I am not comparing him to them in level of skill, I am saying that you are simply wrong to disregard a free agent because of a team he once played for.
-
I would celebrate the return of both! I'll agree and disagree. It absolutely isnt' fair to make your agruement grouping all of those players together. They aren't all the same in where they are at, and you of all people should know this. Yzerman isn't coming back, I would say no to McCarty, and Lapointe. But players like Feds and Koz could be very helpful to this team. Were you one of those guys saying this same thing to bringing back Hasek? Kozzy could have the same effect. He could come back and prove why he is who he is.... and I for one, would be okay with that.

Did anyone else read this, and if so, what was the point? How was it a 'slip-up'? Was that not supposed to be said? Are the wings eyeing him? I just don't quite get it. Link
-
Oh yeah, I can see that for sure. That helps a little bit. Because Yzerman saying he was as good as any player he had, implies that he is just as good as our best players, but Wirtz correction implies that he could crack the Red Wings lineup. This makes sense, but the so called 'correction' of, "Well, he's going to be playing for the blackhawks." Still is a little bit confusing. Yeah that's what I thought when I first read it.
-
Then why a 'slip-up'? I feel like that is a pretty legit thing to say....
-
If not signing Bert gives us a shot at Smyth then I am very torn. But if a definite no on Smyth I say go for Bert for sure.

So I am intrigued with the future of the detroit redwings, and I particularly see it in three players, Filpulla, Hudler, and Griggs (perhaps also Kopecky). That being said we will surely have more in time to come, but I just wanted to be able to discuss them with everyone. 1. What impact will they have next year? (Stats, Positions, Lines, Team Sucess) 2. What impact will they have in the future? (Any of these guys going to end up the future of the team, ie Zets, and Dats? How long till they come into their prime, and what does their prime look like?) 3. What other players have the opportunity to come up and play alongside them? 4. Anything else that needs to be said, discussed? Sorry if this has been posted. I am at work and I can't get these guys off of my mind.

I just don't understand why Calder would drop off like that.... something about it just doesn't make sense to me.
