Why wouldn't Howard stay up all season (unless he melts down/does terrible?) Oh yeah, that's right, he's supposed to stay in the AHL forever. Get real, people. Joseph sucks. He's been washed up for years, and Howard is a superior goaltender. No chance of this happening, ever.

Obviously, no offense to Stevie, he's THE Captain, but Lidstrom is one of the greatest players of all-time. Lidstrom could very well be the greatest Red Wings player ever, Yzerman brought a lot to the table, but I think Lidstrom is a superior talent.

Same here. Although I originally said that Buffalo should do it, I'd consider him more of a Wing than a Sabre. 2 cups in 3 years..that's pretty good. I guess I wouldn't have a huge problem with it, but just don't really see it happening.

Osgood. Why not get Howard's feet wet with 30-ish games in the NHL this year, and see how he does? I'm not trying to sound like a dick, but I don't get why everyone has such a big problem with this. Your post could not be more off. I don't think he struggled at all. In his 5 games played this season, the Wings lost: 1-4 0-1 1-5 2-4 I'm sorry, but when you average a goal per game, your goalie doesn't have much of a chance of winning. He had a 2.13 GAA and a .926 sv %. Tell me how that is a "struggle."

I'd hardly feel comfortable signing an unproven goalie who had a great 2nd half of the season over a tendy that's been hailed as a "can't miss" prospect. It's now or never for Howard, you can't leave him in the minors forever.
